It's because he's never coming back. If Jesus was this perfect being that everyone says he is, than why does he need worship? In theory, a perfect being would need nothing. A perfect being would hold no bias, and wouldn't deem things as right and wrong, but just let them be as they are. Why does Jesus say "these people are wrong" and "this is what you should do". Because he's not a perfect being, and if he's not a perfect being, then he's like us. Boom.

God showed bias in that He still gives us a chance to make it to His all perfect kingdom if we accept His Sons sacrifice. So Jesus came to the earth and pointed out to us what was right and wrong, not because HE needed it, but because WE do. He is a perfect being showing perfect Love.
