  • it is acrylic glass duh!!!

  • Seems like you could use a rotary tool both for cutting and drilling.

Ight, on too the next video then....

  • how do i cut a quarter inch thick plexi glass?

  • "Whack it really hard n fast".

  • where cani get plexiglass at?

  • @GladiatorGage Get plexiglass at lowes or home depot and some hardware stores and lumber yards, glass companies if you need real thick stuff over 1/4"

  • pshh metric system

  • Permit me to add my own method for cutting plexiglas and drilling holes:

I have been working with plexiglas since 1989 and I can tell you that I have become quite proficient at drilling my holes by just drilling with a regular drill bit "IN REVERSE" let the heat do the work and once the hole is through drill in forward motion to clean it out.

I cut my plexiglas with a table saw and router the edges for the smothest effect.

When I cut it by hand I use a Plexiglas Scortching tool

  • does it work with round forms?

  • 3:10 "And then, with my hand, I KARATE CHOP the plexiglass."

  • I wished i could have seen this weeks ago. I have this 11x`14 inch pane(dont know how large that is in cm) that ive ruined. I see now i should have used a few clamps and a sharper cutting blade.

Is there any way to connect the plexi to the artwork without having to drill holes in it?

thanks so much for posting this even though it was over a year ago ia ppreciate it cause i just found it and needed the info. cheers m8

  • Thanks man. I needed to know that for my arcade project.

  • Thanks, is it easy to crack it by cutting it too? Or just drilling it? Also, Do you know what type of paints would work on it? I want to make a simple stain glass window. :)

  • Hi, What's the drill that you are using? I've been looking to purchase one that can cut plexi and with all the options available out there couldn't decide on which one to go for. I was thinking a 12 Volt one with variable speed control would do. What do you think? Anything else I should look out for?

  • Very good video :)

    thanks

  • you have awesome art work... good tips for cutting plexiglass also...

  • Wow..Ricky Martin is a handyman!

  • Sadly trail and error taught me, right before i watched this great video.

I hope others use google/youtube before they attempt or you will waste a sheet before you get it...

  • @viper19861986 to late for me, I already waisted a sheet or two.

  • this really helped me out, cheers and your art work is amazing, i want the one with the skull

  • Nice tutorial! Thanks.

  • Nice :)

It would be so cool if you could make a stencil out of the plexiglass would be reusable so so many times :)

Have to hit it hard and fast gary you ninja :)

    Anyway liking as always !

    Stay safe mate :)

  • i have made loads of stencils like that. a laser cutter does the job perfectly. only problem is its at uni lol

  • aw i to love that you use eyelets i have tons i also have a cropadile which might also make the hole in the plexi it goes through cd'ds like butter also tin cans, im afraid of electric drills lol thanks for the info Gary

  • Nice use of eyelets as spacers, wouldn't have thought of that!

  • your scruffy face looks really cute.

  • why not put the paint on the inside of the plexiglass..so the finished piece can be...dusted...without washing the paint away?? with the plastic left on the glass you can use a jigsaw too. maybe add some curves to the glass edge.

  • very nice, ingenious!!!!!! =]

  • sweetness...
