  • Hi Davie, I enjoy your Video's.

Does Bug Bond begin to cure in the bottle like superglue does after being opened. If so how long does it last from being opened.

    Cheers Nigel

  • Hi Nigel,

I have had a bottle of bug-bond which is a good year old and it's still o.k so I would say no but I have had to replace the top as I do hit it with the uv light from time to time and set it..

    All the best Davie

  • Hey Davie,

What was the hook you were using on this fly? Manufacturer and size please !!

    Thanks,

    Rick

  • Hi Rick,

The hook I used was a fulling mill super grub size 10, it's a very strong light wire hook ideal for a few patterns..

    All the best Davie

  • Hi Davie, Another nice flea, I'll try tying one at the club on thursday, hope it turns out as good as yours.

  • Hi Davie,

    Great looking Pattern.

I've finished the book you gave me. I ready all the part about salmon fishing and the dressings for the Classics.

    I really enjoyed it.

When would be an available time to return it to you?

    Best Regards and Thank You!

    ~David

  • Hi David TotallyFlyTying,

I'm glad you liked the book and you can keep it if you would like as I have another copy...

    All the best Davie

  • Hi Davie,

Thats Very Kind of you but I feel like you have given me too much with very little in return.

I feel really guilty because of all your help and advice you have offered me aswell as the flies you gave me to help me get started early this year and now the book and i havn't repayed you.

When would be the next time you are working or tying at the Angling Center?

    Thank you once Again!!!

    ~David

  • Hi Davie,

Again an excellent video, with clear instructions.

I also appreciate your opening and closing shots, make me realise that the weather does get better!

    Many thanks,

    Gareth

  • Hi Davie

You make fly tying more enjoyable than fishing! Could you recommend some sites for cheaper materials? I am reasonably new at the sport and not too good but I still really enjoy fly tying!

    Thanks, Paul

Ps. i've seen your son's channel and he's very talented!

  • Hi Paul McBeever2k9,

Youtube doesn't allow you to put sites on the comment page but let me know what type of flies you are looking to tye so I can help you if I can..

Glad you liked Sean playing, he's just joined a band call Rose Parade here in Ayr..

    All the best Davie

  • @DavieMcPhail Hi Davie, I really like tying palmered flies, traditional wet flies and i wouldnt mind starting to tie some salmon flies just because they look really good, but the capes and feathers I have are not great quality. Would saddle hackles be better for these?

    Thanks Paul

  • Hi Paul (McBeever2k9),

I use saddle hackles mostly for the body of all my palmer patterns now, Metz, Whiting, Shannon and Collins hackles anyone of these would do..

    All the best

  • I'm sorry but picture quality is poor.
