the 5,56 AK5c is the main weapon of the Swedish Army. The Swedish Home Guard uses the 7.62 AK4b.

@gevar22 Green color means that it's a dummy round, basically just a piece of metal that will not go bang no matter what you do to it. Blue is a round that has gunpowder but no live explosives. For instance, 40mm grenades that are colored blue have gunpowder in them and they shoot out of the weapon pretty much like normal but instead of explosives there's just a orange powder filled into a plastic cap that breaks on impact and then the powder goes out into a cloud that caneasilybeseenforpractice

Glömde egentligen förklara varför vi inte får göra det.

UING är ju ursprungligen ett ingenjörsförband eller något sådant och som egentligen ska förflytta sig mycket med fordon. För att få in så många ryggsäckar som möjligt i fordonet måste liggunderlaget vikas på ett speciellt (och djävulskt sätt) och allt detta gör att vi är helt enkelt tvungna att ha LK35:an.

@KhazariaProject In some areas of the country the weapons are locked up in the local military compound and in others the soldiers take the weapons home (although they're locked and the officers keep the keys to the lock).

@KhazariaProject Unlikely since the 4x scope is better suited for that role. Besides, I've never even seen the 4x scope since my basic training. And even then it was just an Officer that had it during a sim-fire exercise... Cheater...

@lendmeurears Like the title says; "Exercise in Boden" Boden is in the northern parts of Sweden. One of the episodes of Future weapons on the Discovery Channel was shot there for the Artillery piece called "Archer".

Everyone seems to have their own idea of how things are suppose to be done. They're generally the same, but there always seems to be small differences in the teachings. As long as the correct information is carried down the line to the squad leader, then who cares if the number is in whole numbers or not?

You cannot join the Homeguard without having first done basic military training (GMU). Either by doing Värnplikten/Lumpen or by doing the training that will be held in Kiruna next year. More information can be found at (m i l . se)

It is in northern Sweden, yes. If you search for Future Weapons Discovery - Archer, then you'll find a artillery piece developed in Sweden with fotage from Boden.

It's a modified version of the AK4 called AK4B. The difference is that the AK4 has standard iron-sights and the AK4B has a rail with a red-dot Aimpoint sight on it and no iron sights.

"Eld upphör!" is the command used for the general cease fire. "Avbryt, avbryt, eld upphör!" is used for emergency cease fire in case of someone or something coming in to the firing area for instance.

It's an Aimpoint Red-Dot Sight. I can try to find out what the model is called if you like.

How much diffrent is the distribution of weight with the GRT on?

Well the AK4B is a very front-heavy weapon to begin with and the Granade attatchment doesn't make it any less so, however I didn't feel like it was THAT much of a difference weight-wise.

You mean why doesn't every soldier have the same kind/brand of gloves? Well that's probably because they buy their own gloves, because the ones issued by the army are less then perfect if you know what I mean.. =)

Northland what kind of edjucation need to become a officer, wich university do you need to study at?

The Swedish armed Forces are currently going out with tv-commercials and other adverticement for the recruitment of new officer cadetts. I belive all that is needed is that you are a Swedish citicen, have a basic (Swedish) military training plus a highschool degree and then apply to become an officer. If you are accepted I belive that you are sent to a military officer academy in southern Sweden, though I don't know  what the academy is called.

The AK5 is not a bad weapon, you can carry alot more ammo with it then you can with the AK4 and it is more suited for urban warfare since the 5.56mm is less likely to penetrate walls and hurt innocents. These are all AK4B by the way. And please post your comments in English or they will be removed.
