Can't say I've heard much of her music but I saw her live at latitude - trouble I found was that although there was plenty going on musically and it was all very clever if you stripped it down to the basics there quite often wasn't much of a song there. It was like she was hiding behind the band. Anyway it wasn't shit but it didn't impress me either. My chin is dry mate!
mmmm, sounds like an insightful and considered critique- one can't deny that her guitar instincts are good, and her signature cover of 'dig a pony' is o la momo.
Actually I agree with you that the dig a pony cover was very good but @ Latitude I saw Camera Obscura not long after St. Vincent and they were much more my kinda band. In my opinion they were more focused with better structures to their songs - St. Vincent is kind of genre hopping and I lost interest after a bit. But yeah the guitar did rock in places! Like I said I haven't sat down and listened properly but that was my first impression.
My exact response....I thought she'd have the double mic set-up like usual for that part. The time delay on the vocals is very trippy and cool though.
awesome! Thanks for posting this, I love her stuff.

I totally agree. She did use samples for other songs so I don't know why she didn't for this song.
