This is my favorite dish, I once had the amazing oppurtunity to enjoy the world famous Chicken Tikka Masala at Masala in downtown San Diego it was perfect!!
Very creative, buy beyond that it was actually really nice to see the entire recipe in a fraction of the time most videos take. More like this please!
I've had this dish where the chicken was cooked in the Tandoor, and some other times when it was just baked/pan cooked. I prefer the Tandoor cooked version of this. The smoked flavor really adds that extra wow factor. But baked/pan cooked is good as long as the sauce mix is solid and this looks like a good recipe to me.
Sugar?!! Come on. It's not the end of the world but if you take the time to caramelize your onions properly in the pan, sugar should not be necessary. You're in distinguished company; Ramsay does the same in his version! Anyway.. I marinade chicken breast pieces overnight in yoghurt, tandoori masala powder, dried methi and dried mint leaves. Then fry at the start, marinade and all in a eg cast iron wok. The chicken will be melt-in-the-mouth and pink (as if it had been in a tandoor;-).
Titli, I just wanted to say that I made the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Spinach Bhaji last night for the first time ever. They were absolutely delicious!! I had to go through and double everything to make enough for six people, but that was the only tricky part. Thank you for putting up these great recipes!
TITLI, should we smoke weed before or after making this? i really need to know because i have a bunch of guest coming to my house this weekend and i want to serve them this. Please respond right away.
@2htlrn If you smoke it *before* does that mean you will never smoke weed again? And if I say *after* will you refrain from smoking weed until the weekend? I thought so. So the only meaningful answer is "both", even though the best answer is "neither".
Titli... have you got a copy of this one in normal speed I could see please #? (I make this one all the time but I just saute the whole lot - its by far the best curry i've ever made.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, she meant the VIDEO was three minutes. okay. well. it still looks absolutely fabulous and not all that hard to make, so i might try it :).
miss title i don't know what i did wrong.. it came out awful for me :( i followed your instructions through and through... but it tasted very bland... almost watery! :( i shall try again one day... it's only my FAVORITE dish in the whole world.
@xmykeyx I think I know what went wrong, Titli probably forgot to say that the kind of yogurt you should be using is Greek Yogurt, otherwise you need to take a cheesecloth and drain all of the water out of it, the dish loses a lot of flavor in the cooking process otherwise.
good recipe, but misleading title. to actually make this in 3 minutes you would need everything pre made the sauce and chicken, mix it up then heat up on a very high temp or in microwave, won't be the best results but will be done in. 3 minutes.
Monday morning I am going in to town to get the ingredients to make this it looks fantastic! I've always been slightly reluctant to make a Tikka Masala from scratch but yours seems so fun and stress free and it looks tasty. :) I'm going to have a go with your Naan recipe too.

@BlackSabbathFan1985 It's an electric hand blender. They are inexpensive. You can also use a food processor or blender. I saw Sabbath at the Birmingham Odeon in 1978 :-) They were supported by a little known band at the time called Van Halen.
Hi Titli! Just to let you know that I tried your recipe last weekend. I also cooked naan and onion bahji. It took me several hours but my friends were really impressed. Sooo jummy! Thank you.
That's actually quite good. I'd like to try this, but first I need some friends. Alternatively, throw away the masala part of the recipe, just do the tikka, let the chiecken go cold, slice and put in sarnies. BAM! :D
That the British Recipe I guess... I had this kind Indian take out.. But recipe was a little different.. I think was spinach in it.. I didnt really care for it.. But this looks good.. I like all the herbs and spices you put in it
I'm a student and I need to tell you that you have revolutionized the way I cook/eat! It's fantastic, your recipes are so simple but the outcome is amazing and they're dead impressive as well. Thank You! :)
Dear Titli, thank you very much for this recipe! The dish was delicious and very aromatic. Unluckily, I can't buy fresh, green corriander in Poland, but powdered seeds did a little magic. This tikka masala was much tastier than the one we can buy in jars in the shops - imported from India and just a little bit worse than tikka from Indian restaurant - they simply have all the needed herbs. I love the way you show the world of cuisine, with wits and irony. Best regards!
Titli, I just want to say thankyou for all your videos that you do. I only started watching them the last few days, but I decided when I saw this I had to make chicken masala. I can't believe how a novice cook like myself could ever hope to make a restaurant standard curry, if it weren't for your help. This has really inspired me to cook from scratch far more often, even if I am a student and can't really afford to! Many thanks and I look forward to trying something new :)
@TitliNihaan I am now going to have a bash at making a dhansak, but I may put some pineapple into the dish, similar to my local Desi restaurant and may make it with prawns, just to shake things up a bit! I do have a request though.Do you know how to make a Malayan curry? It's a rather sweet dish similar to korma, with bananas and pineapples that some restaurants seem to make, and there are no recipes I can find. Thanks to you again Titli :)
I cooked this as per your recipe and it was possibly the best thing I have ever done in my life. I have a question, though; Do you make the garlic and ginger paste yourself? I just used ginger paste mixed with garlic powder.
I am making it again tomorrow, along with your chicken korma recipe. Thanks!
@TitliNihaan Here you are showing us how to make Chicken Tikka Masala in under 3 minutes and some people are complaining - how ungrateful! I'm off to the kitchen to whip up this recipe - since I'm new I'm going to give myself 4 minutes!
