i love this movie so much b/c im an lds member and im tongan so like whan i found out they made this movie i was like out of all places and they pick tonga !! but yeah the message is sooooo cool.
im waiting for a missionary right now and this movie keeps me encouraged that he is serving the lord and that genn waited pretty muchy 3 years for him that i can wait for my missionary to come home
@mormongrl15 This is the same thing i am doing right now! It's so hard to be waiting here, because time really goes slower for us. But they are serving the Lord, and we must be happy and patients.
@CrazySingingNote So do I! My boyfriend is actually serving his mission in the west indies, and this movie kinda reminds me of him and is also pretty similar to what i'm living right now :). Love this movie, is so full of teachings and shows what a missionary really has to face during his mission.
im lyke addikted 2 dz movie i evn hav a copy......wel ma cousins......i stole it.....n she stil duznt know lol......i love joseph folau sucha stalker lol......but da crying @ da 1st funeral?......we dnt lcry lyke dat!

Omg God I So Love This Movie I Had It & Never Saw It Until one dAY i was like um im gonna see it since that time i would watch it All over again i fell in love with this film!!!!!
but man half the crap they put in it duznt happen .. rats eating your feet .. and girls being sold off .. n the funerall dang we tongans look bad .. buh yeah .. good morals!!!!
MAN THiS MOViE WUSS KOO AND ALL BUT SOME OF THA STUFF THEY PUT ON THERE WUSSNT EVEN TRUE ABOUT TONGA. FOR iNSTiNCE THA FUNERAL SCENE. THEY MADE US TONGANS LOOK BAD ON THAT PART AND SOME OTHER PARTS THROUGHOUT THA MOViE.
man dese people on da movie dont even noe how 2 speak tongan.......some of dem r maori and sum r samoans.....none of demmm r tongan's nd dey also dont noe how 2 speak our language properly

argh excuse me i am a mormon & soon 2 be going on my mission buddy!!! u have to be a mormon 2 go on a mission!!! ur a bit dumb!!! go a get a life ot talk 2 a missionary about it!!!!!
You don't have to be Mormon to be a missionary... yes, you must be Mormon if you are a MORMON missionary, but there are many Protestant Christian missionaries as well. The missionary in this movie was indeed Mormon, though.
And I find it difficult to believe that with your atrocious use of "2" and "u" and "ur" that you are actually a 19-year-old boy (or a 21-year-old girl) getting ready to leave on his or her mission.
i liked it the trailer seems really cool the only problem is they should have got real Tongans to play the part because no offence the pronounciation of simple words just didnt sound right
it's a great movie!!!i really admire the missionary who faced his trials on his mission and never gave up!!!i think ur the best missionary i've ever seen...
i TOTALLy AGREE WiTH THEE 0THER C0MMENTS!! i myself am a FULL T0NGAN && this video was great, but had very BAD [immitation] on our T0NGAN culture and didnt even use any REAL tongans but one or two. The rest of the actors were moari, samoan, different other polynesians that acted in this video but no T0NGANS. Adding to that, the LANGUAGE spoken in this video was VERY POOR && embarresing to hear B/C that wasnt the way to [PRONOUNCE] in the TONGAN LANGUAGE. Nice movie though=] no hard feelings.
this movie was kind of gay for Tongans... they didn't even use real Tongans except for couple actors... and they were kind of making fun of Tongans... they didn't even speak real Tongan... The story was alright with the missionary but the portrayal of Tongans in this movie was very inaccurate and disrespectful
the only way it was disrespectful was the fact that they didn't go to the effort to get the Tongan culture accurate. But, like many other people have mentioned here, the film wasn't about the Tongans, it was about a missionary...... I'm sure if they had the budget (this was a very middle-budget production), that they would have been able to do it correctly. It's a nice, moving film all-round regardless.
BEAUTIFUL Video!! Thanks for sharing!! I love so much this movie!! I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!

I'm not saying you're wrong or anything, but the movie was set in the 50s......

BLACKS ALSO ARE LEAVING THE Mormon church WHEN THEY learn THIS IS IN Mormon SCRIPTURES THE END!
the MORMON CULT GOD CURSING AFRICANS BLACK
"..the LORD shall CURSE the land..A BLACKNESS came upon all the(BLACK AFRICANS)..of Canaan, that they were despised among all people..(LDS Moses7:8)"
The MORMON CULT saying Black Africans are CURSED from the PRIESTHOOD
"...CURSED...to the Priesthood..being of the(BLACK AFRICAN)lineage by which he could not have the right of PRIESTHOOD(LDS Abraham1:26-27)"

Hey, you have the right to speak your mind. If a movie messes up your culture, you don't have to be silent about it.
AarmOZ 3 years ago 2
It's a great movie, but yeah, you gotta admit, The culture for the Tongans wasn't real. But the story about being a missionary was well done.
alyssa5678warren 3 years ago
I guess there are more LDS missionaries in the USA then Tongans lol.

Yea gotta admit it ws a great storyline bt only problem ws the accuracy & portrayal of the Tongan people and culture.

It happens every single time they mess with a different culture... However, the movie was good as far the storyline is concerned.
