  • I'm not saying you're wrong or anything, but the movie was set in the 50s......

Maybe things were different then? idk..

  • i love this movie serisouly my testimony grew stronger of the presithood and missionary work

  • its a really good movie!

  • Man, even if you're not Mormon you can enjoy it ^_^- same with 'Charly' and 'the RM' My friend loved those.

  • I like how a few people say they dont know how to speak a language, erm.... "dese" and "dem"?

ANyways this movie really caught my attention and I always enjoy watching it.

  • not only "dese" and "dem", but also "da" and "dey" and "noe" and "sum" and "2" and "r" and "nd"

    someone's a little hypocritical ;)

  • nice movie.

  • man dese people on da movie dont even noe how 2 speak tongan.......some of dem r maori and sum r samoans.....none of demmm r tongan's nd dey also dont noe how 2 speak our language properly

  • this looks cheap

  • its not its an awesome movie

  • XD true

  • ahh the guy in their played Henry on "Ugly Betty"

  • can i ask a stupid question!!!! is this a mormon movie koz i c a person has mentioned a 'MISSIONARY'..... thankyou...NEH

  • Ive seen it and love it! and i am not mormon.

btw you dont have to be mormon to be a missionary.

  • argh excuse me i am a mormon & soon 2 be going on my mission buddy!!! u have to be a mormon 2 go on a mission!!! ur a bit dumb!!! go a get a life ot talk 2 a missionary about it!!!!!

  • I am sorry, I didnt mean to up set you. I apolagize.

  • nah ummm im sorry r u going 2 be converted or not??? i just realize u r right!!!!!

  • Well Im actually a Christain.

  • You don't have to be Mormon to be a missionary... yes, you must be Mormon if you are a MORMON missionary, but there are many Protestant Christian missionaries as well. The missionary in this movie was indeed Mormon, though.

And I find it difficult to believe that with your atrocious use of "2" and "u" and "ur" that you are actually a 19-year-old boy (or a 21-year-old girl) getting ready to leave on his or her mission.

  • It's kinda weird. It was produced by Excel which does a bunch of Mormon movies, but was released and distributed by disney

  • enserio esta pelicula si que me hizo llorar heee pero yo ya vi en espanol saludos desde monterrey mexico

  • aww yo iwal llore cuando la vi por primera vez, hace mucho, pero ahora me siento aun mas identificada

  • i liked it the trailer seems really cool the only problem is they should have got real Tongans to play the part because no offence the pronounciation of simple words just didnt sound right

  • To tell the truth the movie wasn't flimed in Tonga.....it was actually Rarotonga in the Cook Islands

  • i love this movie is my favorite

  • It seems nice! :)

  • me gusto mucho!!!!!

  • i really love this movie!

  • I really want to see this.

I cant find it, though. :c

  • lubbbbbbbb ittttt........

  • John Garbett, the assistant producer to Gerald Molen, is in my church ward. He is an extremely nice guy.

  • I really like this moviee it's so beautiful...

if you know the name of the song in the trailer tell mee pleeease

  • walk on the ocean- toad on the wet sprocket

  • toad the wet sprocket*

  • thank u so muuuuch!!1

  • it's a great movie!!!i really admire the missionary who faced his trials on his mission and never gave up!!!i think ur the best missionary i've ever seen...

  • Beautiful movie! The actors are so amazing, the story just so touching and the places just breathtaking, absolutely beautiful!

  • i TOTALLy AGREE WiTH THEE 0THER C0MMENTS!! i myself am a FULL T0NGAN && this video was great, but had very BAD [immitation] on our T0NGAN culture and didnt even use any REAL tongans but one or two. The rest of the actors were moari, samoan, different other polynesians that acted in this video but no T0NGANS. Adding to that, the LANGUAGE spoken in this video was VERY POOR && embarresing to hear B/C that wasnt the way to [PRONOUNCE] in the TONGAN LANGUAGE. Nice movie though=] no hard feelings.

  • Hey, you have the right to speak your mind. If a movie messes up your culture, you don't have to be silent about it.

  • It's a great movie, but yeah, you gotta admit, The culture for the Tongans wasn't real. But the story about being a missionary was well done.

  • I guess there are more LDS missionaries in the USA then Tongans lol.

  • Yea gotta admit it ws a great storyline bt only problem ws the accuracy & portrayal of the Tongan people and culture.

  • this movie was kind of gay for Tongans... they didn't even use real Tongans except for couple actors... and they were kind of making fun of Tongans... they didn't even speak real Tongan... The story was alright with the missionary but the portrayal of Tongans in this movie was very inaccurate and disrespectful

  • It happens every single time they mess with a different culture... However, the movie was good as far the storyline is concerned.

  • the only way it was disrespectful was the fact that they didn't go to the effort to get the Tongan culture accurate. But, like many other people have mentioned here, the film wasn't about the Tongans, it was about a missionary...... I'm sure if they had the budget (this was a very middle-budget production), that they would have been able to do it correctly. It's a nice, moving film all-round regardless.
