@bandofredempion i don't own either of them, but i am looking to buy the X3 live. i think the only difference is that the effects on the Pod X3 are in stomp box form on the X3 live. Pretty sure the effects and everything are the same on both, it's just that the X3 Live has been designed for gigging and live performance. :)

What's the difference between the POD X3 and the POD X3 Live? Besides just that the Live has that big pedal board type set up. Are there more sounds and stuff on the POD X3 Live than there are on just the regular X3?

No, I just think that the POD X3 live offers a concept and design more suitable for a live setting. Not sure, though

there's no difference in the sounds, and only minor differences with the I/O's. basically, the X3 live is the X3 with a foot board built in for easy switching for live players. the other X3 is smaller and in the traditional "bean shape"

No they are not!

But i think X3 has a lot more and maybe a little more good sounding metal distortions.

But u can get sick metal tones with the Preamp section and OD/Distortion pedals on the Gt 10 to so im gonna get the Gt 10 cause it has a lot more cool features.

I just bout one and friend has one you can make any kind of tone you want it has 39 amp models built into it. metal,blues,60's rock anything. It's like a computer for a guitar.

You mean straight into a speaker cab? The answer is no, you plug into a power amp first. If it's a combo amp you are pluging into, you can plug it in as you would a pedal or plug into the power amp in (if so equiped ) if not plug into the effects loop return section it will be the same as pluging into the power amp. Hope this helps
