And I have never seen a person who loves Maddie so much like David, he always loved Maddie, even fighting with her. And now, she tries to do another no sex pact, ooh my goosh. In defense of Maddie, the control freak who wants to control everything especially her messy emotions and desires... realize she is a woman madly in love and lust, most likely for the first time in her life, and to boot with a man who represents everything she is against . She is also afraid David isn't serious about her. Inside she'd love it if he boinked her until she couldn't see straight . To her this means her life is careening out of control. Basically the poor girl is scared.

Why can't she just do it again like a normal person! But still you have to love her because without all the sexual tension in the show, that she mostly creats, it wouldn't be the same!
