  • Im gonna build a new rig to replace my e8400 and 9800gt. Is $800 a "good amount" for a new build?

  • @Georgefromboarding if it's focused on gaming, get a core i5 and focus more on trying to get like a GTX 560.

  • @ThisGuyJohn Thanks!

  • Lmao, nice review we need more reviews like that though...

  • @Metalicalypse lol thanks! I'm still using it on my i7 870 and does a solid job for an air cooler that almost never gets cleaned.

  • USE A F...ING KNIFE

  • @MrColmenar The screwdriver is an inside joke. There's always the exit button btw.

  • 5 stars for screwdrivers :)

  • that is an swesome way to open a box 2 screwdriivers

  • @andrewthomasTAS It's all an inside joke with the silly unboxings. Glad you enjoyed it :P

  • @ThisGuyJohn Ya I have the same cpu cooler for my q9400 it made a huge difference in temps

  • @andrewthomasTAS Yea, I only saw about a 3-4c difference compared to my old Zerotherm Nirvana 120 heatsink, still a good purchase as I needed another heatsink for my dad. This one is much easier to take off and clean, so +1 maintenance points to Xigmatek.

  • Tetris :D

  • Someone noticed :D!

  • are you going to do a comparison of temps with your old cooler then this one?

  • The problem with that is that I'd be going by the BIOS, rather than using the Realtemp program, which is supposed to be more accurate. My q9550's temp censors are broken as it doesn't show any temps below 38. So that makes it really hard for me to do temp comparisons. But if don't mind going by the BIOS temps, (I'm looking at my camera from the pics I took) the Zerotherm Nirvana had the CPU at 29ºC, while the new Xigmatek Dark Knight (same thermal grease as NV) was better be 3ºC at 26ºC.

  • thanks for the reply. i only asked what your temps were because i am looking for a cpu cooler. i am currently on a stock cooler with my amd phnom II x4 810 @ 2.6 and i want to do some overclocking.

  • Yea, for the money it's a great choice. For Under $50, I'd buy this again as well as recommend it (as I am doing now). $50-100, I'd get a simple CPU liquid cooler, either the Coolit or Corsair one would be great for the $70-80 they cost. But most budgets are in the $30-50 range when it comes to heatsinks. So both of my heatsinks get the thumbs up from me. Last winter, my old q6600@3ghz was in the single digits (ºC) and kept under 20 doing Prime95 for half a day. It got that cold in my room lol

  • err, forgot to specify that it was the Zerotherm Nirvana that did the cooling last winter.. But I'm sure you figured that out on your own.

  • Unboxing in style... hahhaa

  • needs more cypress hill

  • sexy

    heatsink

and you can use that as a weapon

    el oh el

  • HOT ,very very Hot!

  • Whats up with screwdrivers for unboxing?

  • Didn't feel like running downstairs for a knife, and I found my box cutters 3 hours later in my drawer. :C

  • It's because everyone wants to feel different :)
