hey champ, for an "uncorked" xr geared to do the standard 100mph, how quickly will it reach that topspeed on tar? if you dont know in seconds, a comparison or something would be cool, thanks in advance.
well mine is geared 14-47, which tops out around 92mph and it can reach that in... maybe 8-9 seconds, I really haven't timed it so I'm not sure. It'll get there fast though, never feels like it runs out of steam!
It's liquid cooled. The XR650R comes with slightly different gearing depending on which market it was built for: 15/41 for Australia and 14/48 for everyone else. According to MCN, with 15/41 gearing a genuine top speed of 188km/hr (117mph) can be reached in stock form on the XR650R. If you were to do some tuning and set the gearing for speed you could get a fair bit more but... XR650R rally bikes get over 200km/hr in races, but that would be with $3k+ of work.

Horse riders can hear the bikes coming and need to get out of the way. Their holier than thou "We were here first" attitude is going to get somebody hurt. There's no reason why everyone can't share the trails, everyone just needs to use common sense and self preservation instincts.
Great song but I'd rather hear the bikes. I can get tunes anywhere.Hope you're scouting ahead slow first before you wail over a crest. It would hurt crashing into a horse at 40 mph and then getting kicked to death if it's still alive

That's cool I like the water crossing scene. At first I thought why doesn't he wheelie. Then I seen that it's a pond. That looked cool, nice sacrafice for some good footage. You must have been pretty wet, unless that's a water proof jacket like the riding jacket I have. I'm making some new videos this year with a helmet cam too, can't wait! Cheers
i used to ride on a horse trail that was so much fun. Lots of ups and downs..I ran into a group of horses comen around a blind corner. They made an attempt to rip my spark plug wire out until i kicked their ass.
It is people like you that give trail riders a bad name. I happen to ride motorcycles and horses and find your lack of respect disgusting. Your ineptitude could have easily resulted in someone's death.
hell yeah nice trail, Fuckin beautiful thats what i noticed about xr 650r esp the more newer ones it seems the suspension is a littly fluffy and im 172 im gettin one soon as i get my taxes but my brother got a new one and that thing is a monster
That bike is the best bike ever made until it stalls on a hill and has to be kicked over :)

I have the L version and it's a good bike though a bit on the heavy side. We are in the desert out here, so not many trees or much water.
