because I recognised Ali Pahlavan and Hedie Tehrani, and the Ebi song, so I was curious....btw They don't look similar at all. Some look dark, some look fair skinned, some look Turkish etc

Всъщност "славяни" или по-точно "словени" се наричат единствено славяноговорящите на Балканския п-ов и по-точно Българи и Хървати, а по-късно и Сърбите (които са власи - романизирани и после славянизирани трибали и илири предимно).

Т.нар. "западни славяни" никога не са се наричали така, а са се наричали венеди. Венеди е дума с германски произход и до колкото знам означава Светъл. Тези славянофони очевидно някога са били германоговорящи и са с германски произход - чехи, лужичи.

"Източните славяни" пък са се наричали анти, което пък е име с ирански произход и в буквален превод означава украинци (покраинци) - това са словаци, русини, голяма част от руснаците (украинците включително).
