  • alan357max John is a friend of mine and I have shot three of his guns at 200 yards. A 500 Linebaugh, a 475 Linebaugh, and a .38-40 Highspeed. All of them would keep there shots under 12 inches for a box of shells. The 38-40 was the easiest to shoot well but had a louder "crack" when you pulled the bang switch.

  • I have a #26 from John Linebaugh in 500 caliber, but your gun is much higher quality. I have only shot at about 125 yrds and it's fun.

  • Interesting tidbit there about the barrel length, I am looking at either a 6½ or 8 3/8" length S&W 629 Classic, I am planning to shoot at ranges from 25 to 200 yards (felling silhouettes), would you recommend a 6½ over the 8-3/8 then?
