I recently read an essay by Colin Powell in Katie Couric's book. Colin Powell graduated with a 2.0 GPA in college and they were just happy to have him leave the school. Now, the school's naming things after him. He personally gives me hope.
I was happy when I first saw this because this one of the few things I say he has done right. Dispite the fact that he is now at odds with his party but that's what is expected when a black perso. Goes against the grain
Colin Powel is a American Icon. He is extremely bright would make a great president and served a great career, However he mad a ridiculous decision by picking President Obama. How can I try to convince myself that this didn't come down to race? How is that possible? Did Powell vote for Clinton or Kerry? no we'll guess what. Obama is the most radical and to the far left policy president that America has ever had. So can someone tell me why he endorsed Obama. I don't want to say race.
What I can't stand is these fucked-up deluded people who believe all this bull shit about General Powell's support for Senator Obama being based strictly on race! Wake up and get real!
YEP HE ENDORSED OBAMA! Hope he accepts Sec of Defense or State!
Powell screwed up w/ his WMD UN speech, but he wasn't in the inner cabal loop of Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Rove (Rove unelected political officer making calls, my God).
They mislead Powell. When he knew the truth, he resigned. May be he was fired for not going along, even better. The man has morals & principles like Obama.
Obama haters stop fearing, especially ones smarter, more educated & patriotic than you and McCain.
I was wondering why no top political figure had yet to point this out. Dear God in heaven, he might be a MUSLIM! Obviously, if someone is a Muslim they're connected with terrorists!
Powell did a nice job of summarizing the last few months of this election process, and why Obama would be the better man for president.
This is terrific. He has said all the things that millions of Americans have said every day about Senator Obama. And that is why so many of us are voting for OBAMA!!!!
McCain said if elected in 2000 he would have appointed Powell to his cabinet. On Larry King in 2001, McCain was asked whether he would have named Mr. Rumsfeld and Colin L. Powell to a McCain cabinet. 'Oh, yes." [CNN Larry King, 11/28/01]
McCain said he admired and respected Powell, said he was one of most "honest" men he had "ever known." "Sen. McCain: Well, Colin Powell's one of the most honest men that I've ever known and I admire and respect him enormously, and so obviously I'd take his word for it." [CNBC 4/20/04]
McCain said President Bush was "blessed" to have Powell working for him. McCain said, "I think the president is blessed to have two extremely talented people (Powell and Rumsfeld), experienced people, working for him, and others, but particularly those two." [MSNBC Hardball, 4/23/03]
McCain called Powell one of the most "credible" and "respected men in America. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) praised Powell as one of the "most credible" and "most respected" men in America. [LA Times, 2/6/03]
McCain considered Powell for a running mate. "Retired Gen. Colin Powell is among the potential running mates who have been considered by John McCain, campaign advisers told Politico. Powell was among the possible vice presidential choices the Arizona Republican senator was thinking of when he said he would not rule out a supporter of abortion rights, a key adviser said." [Politico, 8/23/08]
McCain said, "Colin Powell, a man who I admire and respect more than any man in the world, person in the world..." [NY Times interview with John McCain, 7/13/08]

I don't care what Powell said I think it is about race. Obama's a smooth talker & PLAYS at being a moderate. But he's lying through his teeth. He too close to radicals like Rezko and Auchi Odinga, Ayers, The New Black Panther Party, La Raza, Farrakhan, & how could we forget NO,NO,NO NOT GOD BLESS AMERICA...GOD DAMN AMERICA, the so-called Rev. Wright. Obama vigorously defended Wright at first, then dissed him ONLY when he realized he would lose votes. I trust Mccain much more than Obama.
"I don't care what Powell said I think it is about race" - you must be joking...its funny actualy..I was talking to somone about and we agree at some point some nut will say what youve just said here..
You trust former POW whose military records he had permanently sealed, at his request? Shouldn't be proud of his record, well maybe not see "VETERANS AGAINST MCCAIN".
You trust a man who had NO IDEA his wife had a SEVERE drug addiction? He's now all full of the "faith" and bashes Obama's choice, we haven't heard from his minister because? Oh yeah, because he doesn't have one. And best of all "Falin'Palin" , ya' betcha' say it ain't so Johnnie..P L E A S E

So what if his son is campaigning for McCain? His son is not Colin Powell, Colin Powell is Colin Powell and he endorses Obama.
That doesn't refute his endorsement in any way, shape, or form.
