Since freedom can only be preserved as long as it is covered by enough economic and military power, and since we have to compete with China and the USA in a globalised world, I do see a certain need for dtrong cooperation in Europe.
But to force ourselves into an economic union with nations lagging about 50yrs behind us, and letting a non voted uncontrolled, unregulated commission reign over 500million ppl throws us back in a preconstitutional age
is there an independent body to regulate these smart meters?
You know with the new IP standard there will be enough IP addresses available, every electrical and electronic device in your home can have an IP address and therefore programable and controllable from anywhere in the world
In one of the end scenes in the last terminator movie, the AI Skynet spreads into everyhome and you see devices in a random kitchen go crazy. That isn't Sci Fi anymore its Sci Reality
The Soviet Union just changed names and ideology. They're now a bigger threat than before as we now "depend" on their energy supplies.
So, my point is, while in the EU, we will have to bend over backwards to please over 30 different nations. If we were out, we'll only have to please ourselves and our chosen partners so some co-dependence will be neccessary but we should always have the choice who we depend on and who we avoid.
@ZupaSC I have a question as to how much of Europe views the US. I avoid watching the news, as much of it is skewed or slanted toward certain opinions.
In New Zeeland, the government fly over private homes and photograf all houses with heat vision cameras, in order to see if a house have "heat lost".
If a owner of an house have a slight "heat lost!"(means that the house leak a little heat) the owner of the house MUST borrow money from the bank in order to fix the "heat lost"(Isolate it to 110%)
I'm sorry, notwithstanding Thatcher and other exceptions, the micromanagement tendencies women have brought to politics, oops, to administrative statecraft, is undeniable.

doesn't matter who you vote for, the shadow power will still move on with its goal! and your approval is not included in their goal

"Yes to Independence" - much better than "No to European Union". More positive!

Love Europe, Hate the EU is better I think.
Independence is a pipe dream but we should be able to choose who we deal with and more importantly, who not to deal with (I'm looking at you France!)

"Independence is a pipe dream" - They said the Soviet Union would never collapse so to coin a phrase; 'We have a dream'.
