  • i replaced my clutch with a kit now i cant get it to go in gear .my clutch pedal is real spongy could it be the master cylinder the the slave isnt very old

  • @eredy We need the vehicle information to give you the best suggsstions to fix it. Easiest way is to call us 800 258 8312 Ext. 4 8-5 EST and we can discuss. We do not charge for the call. We have several videos showing various techniques, but some vehicles are bit tricky. Gary

  • I found your video very informative, now I can install my new cylinder and bleed it myself. Thankyou

  • @spliffymcgee Without knowing what you are working on, can't offer specifics. But one thing I do advise is look at the entire layout of the hydraulic system, specifically the routing of the line. If the line goes up and over to the passenger side, this can create an air trap when the line goes higher than the Master Cylinder, make it more difficult. Good luck and thanks, Gary

  • @MRKILLAHI my Toyota did that.. throwout bearing fixed it

  • I have a Volkswagen 2007 Rabbit 2.5l 5 Cylinder with a 5-Speed transmission, I need to replace my slave cylinder, do I need to take out the transmission?

  • @Erik201294 I have not seen your application, but the release bearing design uses a fork and external slave cylinder. Trans stays put. Good luck. Gary

  • Bleeding the fluid would help achieve a more positive Pedal feel wouldn't it, it's on an izuzu dmaz

  • @foleym86

If you flush out any air bubbles it sure would. I'm not sure of your application is it a Duramax? If the fluid is badly degraded, contaminated you might improve it with bleeding. Your vechile details would be helpful to advise further. Gary

  • how can i remove the slave cylinder of a ford f250 1993 4x4

  • @mitchelada1

You didn't give us the engine info, I found 3 situations, gas engine 5 speed is "inside" on the front of the transmission, Concentric Slave Cylinder requires trans R&R to service. Gas 4 speed 1/4 turn to remove slave cylinder and the 7.3L and 7.5L are held on with a giant retaining clip. Gary

  • @perfectionclutch o ok its a 5.8L it is a 5 speed transmission with hydraulic clutch

  • @mitchelada1 The transmission has to be removed to R&R slave cylinder and bearing. The Ford Ranger video Part 2 shows a look at the parts as installed and our other Ranger video shows what it looks like on the bench. And our connection servicing video shows the connection disconnect technique.

  • I got a 93 Toyota 4x4. I bled the clutch multiple times. When I have the truck in gear, and the clutch engaged at a stop sign for a few seconds, the truck will start to take off on me. Can anyone tell me what this is? Slave cylinder needing replaced?

  • @Clothify

You didn't mention if you replaced the master or slave cylinder. I would look at the master cylinder (under dash) and look for weeping. Possibly master cylinder is bypassing internally. Also check slave cylinder for weeping of fluid. Any fluid leak must be addressed.

  • talk about the hard way

  • When i start my truck and let of my clutch it squeaks and makes a high pitch noise but it goes away when i step on my clutch and sometimes it wont do it but majority of the time it's doing it. Any solutions to what it may be?

  • ok i had pressure in my pedal but my car would not move wat do u think it is

  • @tezzycash22

Recommend that you call Tech Support, we'll ask questions and make a few comments. Gary

  • @perfectionclutch

ok does these steps apply to a 91 ford escort gt 1.8 liter

  • @tezzycash22

These steps can work for many applications. Can you remove the S/C and compress it? Does your line have a downhill path from the M/C to the S/C? If you answer yes to both of these, this technique can work. The one challange is when the line routing goes higher than the M/C. If it goes higher it most likely will hold an air bubble at the high point. Next time we have a system that has a "high line" air trap, I'll see if I can video that one. Gary

  • i have a 92 honda accord. brand new slave and master. i bleed and everytime i get nothing but bubbles no matter wat. i cant get any pressure back into my pedal wat so ever any help please :/

  • @splinter2 Look at your line routing, does your S/C mount on the passenger side? If so, I think you have a much longer line routing and a very good chance of an air trap in the line routing. Is there any place in the line where it is high that you can open the line and bleed it in the middle? If your line is short and runs downhill to the S/C make sure that all connections are tight and not pulling in air. Also with the new M/C make sure that the pushrod is slightly loose, adj it later. Gary

  • @perfectionclutch ok so i was looking around some more and it looks like it could be the hard line running from the master. the m/c runs along the firewall then towards the radiator its got some ways to travel so im guessing its just the hardlines because theres oil coming from it when i compress the clutch in

  • @splinter2 Give us a call, we can go over this on the phone. Air bubbles are sneaky they hide in the system. When I look at the line routing and position of all of the components, it really helps me determine which technique is the best choice. Gary

  • thanx yall help me bleed my maxima saved me money

  • Thank you so much! I looked everywhere for a one man bleed technique and this one was the winner.

  • @corpuskristen

Glad this worked for you. One challange to clutch systems is to look at the routing of the parts checking for AIR TRAPS. An air trap is a place for air to get stuck in, line goes up, line curves down air bubble stays put at the high point, famous one is the Ranger. This system was a short run, always going uphill, pretty easy. I did a Civic that routed the line across the firewall to get to passenger side, major air trap as is crossed over. Gary

  • what are the signs that show the car need a new master cylinder?

  • @BUCK3TM4N

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Symptoms include: Fluid level goes down in reservoir, fluid leak or moisture from fluid around master cylinder pushrod area (primary seal), any connection that shows fluid loss by being moist or wet with fluid. Difficult to select gear, clutch is not being allowed to fully release because the system is not creating a full stroke at the release bearing.

    Gary

  • @perfectionclutch is it this simple on an 86 fiero?

  • @undertaker0215

The Fiero is possibly in second place behind the Ranger for difficulty in the RELEASE system, not just hydraulics. This technique works if your line routing does not create large air traps, so w/o seeing the routing of the line, can't gaurntee, but worth a try. BTW the Fiero has had many GM TSB's over the years describing release system fixes and inspection points. Call Tech Line, we can get you TSB summary via e-mail.

    Good luck. Gary

  • @perfectionclutch thanks for the info, also is a master cylinder the same as a clutch master? like when some one says i need a master cylinder are they referring to a clutch master? or are they both different?

  • CONTINUE...down . you can look at the slave move up when the cluth pedal is down...but when you release the valve to bleed the air the push rod will move down and tight it , then fill up the reservoir and put cover back on...

I get in the car ...depress the cluth down and change the gear around...IT WORK !!!

    NEED HELPS....hauling at me !!!

  • Continue...the line with new sealed down the hole and lock it up with a new pin . i put a new slave down to the same position then put two screw back in and tight it . i open the cover on dot 3 reservoir and let my friend pump on the cluth for quite some time untill it feel firm enough then hold it down . i released the valve on new cluth slave to let the fluid come oout then close it...i do this two -three time until the cluth pedal if firm and slave cylinder is move up when the cluth is

  • Thanks for your support video....

Im changed my cluth slave cylinder on my 2000 accord lx today.

First i have my friend step on the cluth about 20 time then hold it down , i release the valve on an old cluth slave to get the old dot 3 out . i removed air filter pipe, water pump hose. i removed two screw on old slave cylinder and pick up from the bottom. i removed the pin with a small size nail and pull the line out . NEXT...I filled up the new slave cylinder with dot 3 oil then pushes...

  • great video! saved me big time!

  • now i have a more understanding how a clutch work.... do a honda civic have this type of clutch or the wire clutch???

  • @vinceperez158 Has the Fluid, not a wire system. I am about to do mine right now.

  • @justinbricker Moron.

  • I just tried this method on my 2000 Nissan Maxima and it did not work. I could see bubbles come out, but after 20 minutes of pumping I still had no clutch. Only thing that worked was bleeding it the old fashioned way. Push the clutch in open bleed screw close it pull clutch off of the floor and repeat about 10 times.

  • everytime i push in the clutch it gets stuck and i have to pull it back out is it the slave cylinder i have to replace and it leaks?

  • MAKE SURE ON RE-INSTALL , THAT YOU MAKE THE U OF THE ARM ON THE SLAVE GO AROUND THE PEDAL BEFORE YOU TIGHTEN UP . OR YOULL BE PULLING IT ALL WHEN YOU SEE YOU HAVNT AND CLUTCH GOES TO FLOOR AND STAYS . NO FUN .

  • i have an 1987 f150 and i have replaced both the master and slave cylinder and none of the fluid in my master cylinder will bleed when i push the clutch in and out i have done it with the bleed screw open and closed on the slave and it still has no hardness on the pedal have any idea? plz help

  • at 2:18, are u saying detach the line?, and when do u tighten that line again? thnx!

  • so when there are no more air bubbles the system has been bled out and ready to hook up?...how is steve adjusting the rod? is he pushing the clutch pedal down?

  • This video is incredibly helpful. Thank you very much for making it.

  • excuse me, you are the man and you saved my buddy and i a lot of trouble.

  • @Food2001 Thank You!

  • I installed a new master cylinder and slave clutch yesterday and i bled it and everything and the clutch pedal was perfect. Then today i went to check it and the pedal had about half free play on it compared to the one inch it had the day before. I have no clue what is goimg on with this!!!

  • @haa4132 Please call our tech line at 1-800-258-8312 ext. 4.

  • @haa4132 im having the same problem myself did u ever get that figured out?
