Thats Great!!! I was thinking about putting a 454 in my first truck when I put one together but now I have an even dumber idea. :D That is to keep the body style (73-80) and put a 6V53 Detroit in it. Id have to get a 5spd, 3 inch body lift, cowl induction hood, etc. Theres only about 2 people I've talked to that actually think that its a good idea. lol

man it sucks i just rolled my 2002 suburban with a 5.3 vortex engine and i still want to get another suburban but for half the price. I was considering maybe possibly a 454 but after seeing this and other videos it would be a waste. my suburban would have beat this no problem (no offence) and it got decent mpg.

Too bad that wasn't the 4 bbl version with dual exhaust and no converters. That would have been even better with the air cleaner lid flipped upside down. Still good though.

my parents had an older 80's suburban with the 454 in it that they used to tow with. couldn't believe how fast it sucked the gas down......i think it would get about 7-8 mpg.

I had a 67 Impala with a 307 and 2 barrel. That 2 barrel would roar with a chrome air filter or turning the stock air filter lid upside down. Everyone thought it was a 4 barrel. When I did change it to a 4 barrel it was three times louder.
