Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that I have enjoyed reading all of your comments and words of support. I have constructed a Facebook account, so I can stay in contact with everyone and answer any questions you might have. Hope to talk to you soon, take care. Ret.Cpl.Rob FURLONG.

@binbashLinuxAhole Yep, which is part of the controversy about it. (How dare you make a video game where you can play the Taliban!).. personally, I thought it enlightening and freaking scary how much detail they put into it. I was surprised how little respect it got from the armed services. It made me very proud of what they do, even if I was disgusted by the motives behind why they had to. (ie: blame the general, not the soldier)
British Corporal Craig Harrison shot at 2,475 meters. Ole' Rob Furlong's shot was measured at 2,430 meters, which translates to 1.51 miles. And it was a chest shot. which means he has no longer the futhers shot also rob took three shots this brithish guy took one .
OOOOOH CANADA! kickin ars! nothing but respect! and a cold chill up your spine if you were ever being watched. I was in Central Wa recently and spoke with a gun shop owner who has recently sold over 2 dozen Barrett .50 cal...semi auto ones. So the central area of say...Wenatchee is very well covered.
@charliesacoolkid Sorry(I didn't even go to your page), I actually remember that being on the news, must have preferred the memory of a Canadian doing it so I forgot it.
and sources also say it took him 9 targeting shots before he shot on the target to get a kill. If ya ask me taking 9 shots is a long long time while someone is under attack not to mention reloading as the mag only holds 5 rounds
so he took a kill shot reloaded then took another kill shot and then another shot to disable the weapon sounds fishy to me. jfk theory anyone
Share the sources you mention on the "9 targeting" shots.
How is it even remotly close to jfk theory...and seriously.. if you think a government is covering up or in a conspiracy theory over a kill shot.. then you people REALLY need to go outside more. lols.
@TheRockomb I was just poking fun about the conspiracy but it does sound a little fishy, and there was reports of another team closer in the area so shots could have come from them. At that distance you could never tell, but then I Guess there would be disputes about the kill.
and this is taken from wiki ( not a super trusted source)*** In a BBC interview, Harrison reported it took about nine shots for him and his spotter to initially range the target successfully*** right in the first line.
What they forgot to mention is as soon as he loaded those .50 caliber rounds he broke international laws of war. Unfortunately he could only use those 50 cals on armored targets, obviously the taliban had very little to no armored vehicles or turrets but he had to do what he had to do to back up the men on the ground and save lives.
@blackhawk438 when you travel the continent you can tell the differences from someone from canada's east coast and the west and the central or the north and same with the US. czechsanchez01 has it right. The training the Canadians received made it possible to transition from the Canadian .50 cal rounds to the American .50 cal rounds. The entire ballistics envelope is different and to take advantage of that in a combat situation indicates a very high level of training. I've heard that the match ammo our guys were using utilized a 750 gr BT Spitzer and the yank ammo used a 686 gr BT Spitzer. The Canadian team did a helluva job with what they had.
@ryza45 Actually nobody has beaten his record yet, it still stands. Two longest shots ever made was by Master Corporal Arron Perry 2,310m and Corporal Rob Furlong 2,430m, OH AND!, BOTH were Canadians :)

A British sniper got two Taliban on a motorbike with one bullet. Well the the EU do want lower CO2 emissions. And there's a 50% saving on ammo right there. It's all good.
Believe it or not, that record has been broken once again. By a 308 bolt action. I don't know the name but a British sniper killed not on not two but a three man machine gun team at over 2700 yds. But good shot furlong
If he had the chey tac intervention with the special weather station computer and a supressor maybe he could have gotten it the first or second chance but good job and thanks for the help.
@MrDiapond WTF its not about were your from that makes u the best its about being the best behind the gun and at the min a brit holds the record it doesnt mean all brits are the best at sniping!!!

This record was broken by a British sniper, I think it was 3 miles or something, anyway the packie is dead and no more corner shops will be opening on my street
@slowframe for most people the military is a inrest but it's just not for them if your really want to join or just thinking about it go to a recruiting office and join the reserve there is no contract and you just have to sign a VR fourm to get out.
Oh, also ive just noticed that people with at least a years worth of experience shooting on one side all seem to have a deformity in their eyes, the shooting eye is open and the non shooting eye is sligtly squinted
amazing shot, they always think canadians can't fight a War JTF-2 is still pretty bitching, but yah we need more praise for what we do, god bless the CF and multinational forces
@slowframe Good thing not everyones worried about themselves or we would be fucked thats why right after high school im going the marine corp semper fi fuckos.
@thuyclides Hate to be the one to inform you but there's no such thing as the look of a serial killer. Oh, and you wouldn't want anyone near a real one, kids or adults genius.
that was pretty cool! if i was to join the military, that's what i'd like to do if could qualify for it, and maybe train with canadian snipers haha! canadians are cool, theyre nice people too, i mean a lot of them are! i use to live in seattle, washington for almost sixteen years i use to run into people from canada and they were friendly!
We took over the Canadians at the Shawali Kot Valley. And we got FUCKED UP apparently the Canadians were not doing the patrols they were suppose to do coz they were pulling out.We ended up playing minesweeper loosing guys every other week.
@slowframe For every 1 soldier in the front takes 4 others to support him. Or something like that... It's stuck in my head and idk where I remember it from.
@slowframe There are so many jobs in the military, where you wouldn't be in the field like you think. I'd look into it regardless man, you might find something you like.
@SolitudeDesWolf Well when I think about joining the army it'd be about joining the front line and protecting my brother beside me (Referring every soldier as my brother). Not to protect anyone at home, I could care less because I know they feel the same way about the soldiers. But yeah I would want to join so I could help protect the person charging in right beside me.
@slowframe Well that's a awfully noble thing to say and I'm more than sure you mean it. But really my advice to you is, what are you trying to do? What do you want to do for a career assuming it won't be in the military? I wouldn't go straight infantry unless you are completely clueless about what you want to do or if that IS what you want to do. I personally joined because I wanted to get a something extra out of it then just the cool shooting stuff. That's why I chose Civil Affairs(38B).
What a skill & technique to yarn for!

Confirmed by the news reporters attached to his patrol using GPS. Also confirmed by his command using GPS also.
The weapon used was the L115 which isnt 7.62 its actually an 8.59 and accurate to more that the recorded range.

What people dont realize is this is the only CONFIRMED LONG RANGE KILL. Likely someone else had the same precision, but it was not properly checked

that was pretty cool! if i was to join the military, that's what i'd like to do if could qualify for it, and maybe train with canadian snipers haha! canadians are cool, theyre nice people too, i mean a lot of them are! i use to live in seattle, washington for almost sixteen years i use to run into people from canada and they were friendly!

We took over the Canadians at the Shawali Kot Valley. And we got FUCKED UP apparently the Canadians were not doing the patrols they were suppose to do coz they were pulling out.We ended up playing minesweeper loosing guys every other week.
rcr3158 1 year ago
there are not alot of chances where you can shot someone from that far with a clear line of site
michaelpham12 1 year ago
some british sniper broke his record already by not much though, just very little!
Hanns212 1 year ago
@slowframe For every 1 soldier in the front takes 4 others to support him. Or something like that... It's stuck in my head and idk where I remember it from.
slugger449 1 year ago
@slowframe There are so many jobs in the military, where you wouldn't be in the field like you think. I'd look into it regardless man, you might find something you like.
SolitudeDesWolf 1 year ago
@SolitudeDesWolf Well when I think about joining the army it'd be about joining the front line and protecting my brother beside me (Referring every soldier as my brother). Not to protect anyone at home, I could care less because I know they feel the same way about the soldiers. But yeah I would want to join so I could help protect the person charging in right beside me.
slowframe 1 year ago
@slowframe Well that's a awfully noble thing to say and I'm more than sure you mean it. But really my advice to you is, what are you trying to do? What do you want to do for a career assuming it won't be in the military? I wouldn't go straight infantry unless you are completely clueless about what you want to do or if that IS what you want to do. I personally joined because I wanted to get a something extra out of it then just the cool shooting stuff. That's why I chose Civil Affairs(38B).

If I was in the field, and this guy was there too but as my enemy. I would be crying.
