Schindler actually disables the door close button since it has no relavant use in normal and independent service modes. The sole purpose of that button is simply for fire service. (Hence why elevators installed pre-fire service commonly lack door close buttons.)
Hmm. There has to be some setup that allows Door Close to work. When I did the Gauntlet at the Natick Collection, the door close buttons on the 400A's worked. They didn't when I was there before, and those who recorded before the gauntlet.
@georgef551 400A's have much quicker door timers than 330A's. Typically, 400A and 500A's close immediately after the chime is finished ringing. 300A's had decently quick door timers, but for some reason, 330A's are much longer. If you leave a 330A open for a while or if it is up peak, it will close immediately upon a call.
In the case of the 400A's in Natick, the door close actually did work, because I could press them immediately, and the doors closed, which until then, never happened. You can see it in the older videos, when lack of response.
Hence why when I shot the Gauntlet Video (or movie), I kept referencing how odd that they worked, because they didn't, until now. My guess was after a recent inspection, the inspectors left a switch on to allow it. I have seen even 330A's where this was possible.

That, I've seen (all cases you pointed out).

@georgef551 That's very interesting, something I do not know! Very cool experience though!

@georgef551 Speaking of 330A, did you ever get back to that Page building with the 321A?

@suzzex
No, I haven't, but I didn't forget about it.
Since I've been caught there a couple times, I like to leave space between visits, so they (hopefull) forget about me ever being there.

Only Nordstrom, Macy's (elevator ONLY), and Lord and Taylor take good care of their people movers, even in a Simon mall.

@elevatorsonly
This one was good. I was suprised, being a Schindler Hydro.
I guess if you're contantly on them, even a Schindler Hydro will be good. :)

The 400A's in Natick Collection are 10000000000000000 times better than this one. They give off a very smooth and quiet ride.

At some point, I might see if they are. Not sure when, but it's not far from work.
