You've got some chops! Call Sean Wang for lessons, he is still in town these next two weeks. I can give you his number. I think he's the most concise violin teacher I've ever had. I've accomplished so much in just one year.
What amp are you using? I heard guitar amps distort the violin sound but that sounds fine for personal use to me. Besides I like some of the sounds you can make with an fx pedal =). Nice playing btw - I just bought an electric violin but dont know how to play yet :p I have played the piano most of my life and have started using the special features on digitial one so thought it would be cool to play the violin along to my piano/synthesiszer playing :p
I'm using just a regular Marshall amp, MG Series. It was about a hundred. We could collaborate! Just send me a youtube message one of these days when you have a song you'd like to do!
It's an acoustic violin, I used a pick up clip (used for tuning) and decided to hook the studio plug to an amp. The clip is like 9 dollars online. pretty nifty
hey i have a peavey transtube and im wondering if i bought an electric violin it would sound good. this is kind of a stupid queation but what would be better: a $750 peavey transtube (it kicks aass on guitar) or a $150 real violin amp?
I've never used a tube amp nor a real violin amp. I'm just using a guitar amp for now, and it works well. Just used the amp you have now, It will probably produce a richer sound anyways. Go ahead and work with what you got first before spending more money.
thanks a lot. im really trying to nail a "break the sword of justice" and an "i talk to the rain" tone. both are by yuki kajiura and she is definately my favorite classical artist right now. thanks for the help :)
i'm from argentina, i play the violin, i hope someday play like you becuase you're amaizing.
have you ever wonder how sounds a violin with a wah-wah? that's how i discovered the band "gentle giant", they've a song and sound so fucking good :)
If you have the amp already, a pickup is like $9. It's cheap so go ahead and try it out! If you don't have a violin, a cheap one will be fine if you are using a amp.
man you are amazing im going to start practicing violin on thyis christmas hehe i never really tried but I have six years of experience on guitar in which I play a lot of classical music on...dont think one instrument may hel a lot on playing another but its because I want to play classical on the real thing!! haha anyways you rock man
hey bro , thanks for asking XD, well I have a violin but I just dont know how to use it and finding a decent teacher is hard in the city I live, so at the moment im playing guitar while searching for a teacher XD
what did you use to hook the amp to the violin. cord and tiny mic or what on to the bridge I've tried amplifying my violin since I play with elec. guitars drums and louder insruments than mine
I used a tuner pick up, the ones you used to plug in a tuner. It's about $9, versus the mics that are about $100. It's got a cord, and that usually a hassle
real nice! I also play the Violin, but never make it like you.... Can I make a request?? I want you to play "la Campanella" by Franz Liszt, I like it!
la campanella is by paganini i think haha, i'll try and find the sheet music for the song. I have a little down by ear though. yea buying sheet musics is expensive... =\
Wow, Dez, you're good. Since you already know music and know how to play well, I can definitely help you with any tips you need on guitar. And that classical stuff is awesome. That's what I like to play on guitar. Let me know if you need any guitar info/help.
WOW! Amazing!!! I love it when a guy plays a classical instrument and your so good! The vilon is a hard instrument to play - I treid when I was 10 and I was terrible :(

Naldowon 5 years ago
It's style, it's like saying rock and blue and jazz. You could use the same guitar to play all three styles.
