@orangeani because the song is written by the musical composer for the movie Synecdoche, New York, and he is a man, and it is a theme that the music and television that surround the central character of the movie are all about him. Quite fitting to the movie that it is a woman singing a song from a man's perspective, now that you mention it.
And I want to fuck you until we merge into a Chimera, a mythical beast of penis and vagina, eternally fused, two pairs of eyes that look only at each other, and lips, ever touching, and one voice that whispers to itself.
@wickeddrummer13 No, Hawthorne did not write this song, Jon Brion did for the movie synecdoche, ny - hawthorne did a cover of it on his new EP that was btw comprised solely of covers. So I know it's all good ;)

this movie moved me from the core, couldnt stop thinking about it for a long time. existencialist and profound, one of the best most artistic and beautiful films ever
I saw this movie today at the cinema.,.. I can't get it out of my mind!!! Iy's a masterpiece. My favourite part is when Olive, his daughter, dies bcause the tattooed flowers on her body die. When she dies, one of the tattooed petals falls off her body. I downloaded the soundtrack immediately. The movie made me emotionally drained and charged - it's still in my head - I can't stop thinking about it. What do you think?
Well: im an author starting his own career so, that movie touched me deep inside. I mean, the quotes like "i wanna do something important while im still here", it just destroyed me (in a good way, cuz life is like that: a zen quote says "you born, you live and then, you die... ¡how beautiful!".
You lucky one; im from México City so, this movie is not going to be realesed here, so i had to bought it from internet (there's no more swine flu made in u.s.a. by the way :))
And, i have never had a "favorite" movie... until now, "Synecdoche, New York" its a great excistencialist movie thath blows up and explores the "human spirit" very deeply.
*The fact that, he re-creates a fictional world inside a real world just because he needs an audience not only in his job but, in his life also... ufffff, bautiful movie.
wow!! same here saw it a month and a half ago, but it still remains in my mind. it made me happy as well as sad, and aware of many things about life, that scene with the tattoos is one of the best, but i totally broke down with the priest's speech, and in the end, when he dies. it did drain me, but i loved, it is like so much fantasy in it but also it is sooo real, or realistic!!
A movie you can never forget...that's a good way to put it. A few days after seeing it, I started coming back to it over and over, involuntarily, in day dreams. It gets in your head, for sure.

@MissEllaMaryCampbell ....it was written by Jon Brion, as is common in movie soundtracks, sung by another.
