Whatever happened to China's pledge of raising the profile of wushu around the world? They royally suck, the athletes suffer due to the greed of the government and their outdated policies. There should be wushu programmes available for free at every school within living distance of most people. It's a ridiculous state of affairs that i for one feel very much let down after the hype of the 08 olympics, jus sayin'
@colocolopity One country can't just send a sport around the world. It is mainly China's government's fault that they tend to focus more on their own wushu than spreading it but there's also very little knowledge in general about wushu in other countries and people are pretty reluctant to watch/learn about something they may not want to do. I recruit for my university's team and the reason most don't join is because they never stop to listen to any details about wushu.
@Jaygenius You're saying one country can't just send a sport around the world, then what the heck happened with soccer? China's govt sux royal ass...they're a right pompous group of no-marks and spivs, hell bent on containing everything about china, they're a disgrace to themselves and the people they pretend to represent, like most every other govt...i'm not saying they're all in one big smug club or anything, heaven's forbid. i'm not even allowed to train with the university team here, 1 won 2
@ Jaygenius Cont... silver medals for GB, thanks that the team got...our Coach Chen De Qing got told he'd overstapped the mark in even entering the competition, it was in his home town, Kaifeng...people are WAAAAAYYY to docile to take on board anything any whorethority assumes when it comes to whether you have the right to do something or not, they shud simply do their job and make sure things are catered for accordingly...wushu mats on England, home of the 2012 Olympics = 0 total farce end rant
