Everybody commenting here is right... I'm the guy in the footage by the way (1:33, 2:33 to 2:40), and thanks for the concern, but I'm fine, haha! I stopped training here about a month after that video was shot. No, they don't teach form, and yes it's all one giant pissing contest! Eric Diaz, head coach at "Sparta", is Crossfit certified, yet you can all see how much that really means here. As long as there are people like this in the industry, there will always be critics.
2:33 to 2:40 was soooo hard to watch, form is horrible... he does not care for bad technique, and injury... and neither do the coaches since they encourage them!
If you can't keep good form in a WOD, then slow down and do it at a pace in which you can complete it safely.
@ccetdany i was gonna scroll down to comment on that part and i was thinking "FOR SURE SOMEBODY ALREADY COMMENTED ON THIS LOL" and sure enough, first comment :P
@RazorOdphi Its not hating we have done crossfit and we know the correct form and it can seriously hurt you. Some people start out in good shape and stay that way but full range of motion will increase the results. I have done crossfit for 2 years and my parents own a box! im 13
please teach your clients basic movement of the squat. that was hard to watch. after "a month or two" squats should be bread and butter. feet about shoulder width (maybe a bit wider), kneecaps barely pass over toes on the way down, drop hips, keep knees out. weight of the body on heels
Training hard is good - of course - but training hard and WRONG will put you out of play for a long time. That's where I'm at right now - get a good instructor! These guys might be it, I don't know enough to tell though.
@sanchez180 what's sad is that they don't realize their technique is horrible, and routinely "doctor" their times so they all seem like contenders to win the games.
not 1 single correct form in that gym.. sad

The song is very appropriate-"all I want to do is take your money" and don't give a crap if your form is crap-as long as I'm getting paid...LOL

so many crossfit haters... hey most of the people in the video seem to be in pretty good shape so it obviously works.

@heavysurf858 i no longer go here because these people don't care at all about form or safety
mattbackvass 1 year ago
Please Mr CROSSFIT SPARTA!!!!
These people cannot do the WOD if they've not mastered the techniques.
Pls go back to the basics for the safety!!!!!

Great concept, but bullsh1t technique. You guys will go broke with all the injuries your clients will sustain.

"take your money" is indeed the crossfit moto. good shit though.

An excellent workout when done correctly, however spoiled by stupid Americanisms. "Suck it up buttercup". Are these people retarded?
Jamesgraysonclarke 2 years ago 3
it's all very creative, and catchy, though the people who train in this video seem to do a lot of jerky moves, and use a lot of momentum.
Crossfit does indeed train you well, but sometimes i just wonder if it has to be like that.
