@HunterJiron It may be doom because of the lyrical theme... The lyrics speak about desperation while on a bad LSD trip. But musically, the guitars and drums are too fast to be doom metal(or stoner doom). I would call it heavy psychedelic/acid metal or heavy distorted acid rock. You can headbang like a stoned maniac to this. It's still doomy and psychedelic, though.

i couldnt disagree more. dont take me the wrong way, i like nothing more than to get higher than matt pike and rock any wizard album, but you dont NEED to be high to understand at all, im listening to black masses now and ive just gotten up, sober as can be (about to have a joint though ha) and its just as understandable and great as their debut was back in the 90s

while I am not a huge metal fan, I do quite enjoy the doom / stoner variety.

it's probably the deeper, slower sound that it has.

also i much prefer thevocal styles used in this style to the ones used in death / black metal.

Who cares if it's not a carbon copy of their older music, isn't that what bands try to do as they grow? come up with new styles. if you were a musician you would understand. you grow tired of playing the same things.

This music kicks just as much ass as their older albums.

@donotseemecricket this is the most unique form of metal; all bands are racing for who is the most evil, the fastest or the "sexiest" band or whatever... When you're into Stoner Doom it's like "mmmyeah, whatever... burn some weed or drop some acid"... It's something that is about contemplating and being drifted by thoughts, man... Besides, this music cannot be undestood if you're totally sober! You need to be "flying" on something...

I love EW but....Jus's vocals, when they got melodic, were a bit monotone. But the chorus on this song knocks the shit, right out of your ass, into the toilet, that's how great it is.
