they will keep going backwards until they get to medieval times or even with dinosaurs. If you try to watch them all as if they were a trilogy it won't make sense to have the first one more agressive than the following two or have the second one more aggresive than the last one.

It seems someone in the past made a pact to a demon to be wealthy in exchange of one of her descendents I said her because I can't recall if it was the grandmother or grand grand mother who did it). So, it doesn;t matter if they leave the house. In the other two movies the demon appeared in two different houses.
