@jaesango so over time you'll get hearing loss and for you to go deaf instant youll "die" or "go blind" before then but even then hearing loss at normal super street vehicles you'll get hearing loss over time but shouldn't go deaf it'll have to be at extreme levels and continuously for you to go deaf before going blind and dieing idk about you but id hate to sit in a car thats 165+dbs for 10mins straight as much as i love bass and music i cant do that imagin the headache from that XD

@jaesango oh of course over time youll lose your hearing but usally under 150 decibels it doesn't really affect you but the louder you go the less tolerance your ears can take there's a chart somewhere can't remember where it was at but it said the time it takes to have hearing loss after a certain decibel and i can't remember but somewhere around the 160db range your ears can only stand for 30seconds before hearing loss occurs keeps going up till you die cuz that'll happen before going deaf

actually, if you look at the anatomy of the ear the way you perceive sound is through 3 little bones that vibrate in a medium causing you to 'hear'. Whether it's high frequency or low frequency they still vibrate. Do you think people that play the drums have hearing loss from high frequency? I don't think so, it's because it's too loud in general.

my setup hits 144db @ 40hz i listen to it every day i can play rap all day long and be just fine. but if i listen to rock and the highs will make my ears ring after about 10 min.

I don't think people are getting the point...if you go deaf after listening to it like that after a year then it is called SERIOUS damage...

I'm talking about the cumulative effect. Yes, it won't have adverse affects right away, but think of it in 5, 10 or even 15 years. You'll definitely have hearing loss if you expose yourself to that kind of bass in your car. It's fine if you don't want to admit it...ignorance is bliss.

@122312bens it probably does do half, but add two more subs and get half again as loud which is only 1.5 db, no audible difference....then half again 4 more subs for another 1.5db (i know double is 3db) but if your only doing half then every time you double it would be 1.5 db by your math. so in the end your saying that 8 of your twelves would do what his 6 would do. i think my math is correct. have fun with 8....OUCH. lol
