  • wow watching this is like being red-green colorblind :/

  • The commentators are for the non-fencer spectators. It keeps them un-bored.

  • These commentators don't know what they' re talking about =(

    They are just annoying .

  • the German looks sloppy :/. Must have been having a bad day.

  • My coach says German's footwork suck. I can't remember Russian or Italian, but one of those two, footworks are greatly emphasized.

  • Wow, you are right..... I havent been fencing for a year and my foot work is better than the German fencing technique...... of foot work

  • The Italians place huge emphasis on footwork, in particular the tempo of it.

And Joppich's footwork doesn't suck its just erratic looking. He's perfectly balanced and poised after each step and that's what matters.

  • @toxotos nah, he's always like that.

  • annoying commentators

  • You're insane mate. It's foil, just foil.

  • because they are fencing foil.

  • I assure you its foil!

  • Fencing: awesome sport

  • I came second in the South African championships and it's nice to just look at how other people do fencing.

  • no flick master means the true fencing is back, and real fencers are winning.

  • They don't use flick master they use allstar BF's. leon Paul is horrible

  • I love that the referees sound kind of baffled; it's like they're thinking 'why are we watching this??'

    Foil is awesome though :-)

  • The red-green changing colors..... is..... disorienting.

  • anyone know what kinda blades they use? or i mean what the champions prefer if any? i mean i was thinkin maybe Leon Paul flickmasters. or some variation of viniti's.

  • Probably Flickmasters

  • thats what i figured, there blades look ridiculously flimsy.

  • yeah its amazing how good their point control is despite the flexibility of their blades

  • do you know where i can get flickmasters? been looking and i can't find them anywhere

  • They are probably Vnitis (i think) BUT these fencers are very very very good at flicking. Just look at their forearms. haha. I use my training blade in competitions in the early stages and it is very stiff (China brand RS) then when i get to quarter finals or semis i use my vniti. my point is that they probably have some sort of resistance training. in other words: these guys are so freaking pro at fencing in the first place.

  • ah ok, thanks for the clarification. You think they might use Allstar BF's too? - b

  • ah, that is possible. but it might be the BF blues. my friend bought the bf white and it is very stiff. the blues are weepy like an uhlmann standard blade. but it isn't as much as say a vniti or the FS 1202 batch.

  • what is FS1202 exactly?

  • Oh, not sure what it stands for i will get back to you on that one. but it is an Italian blade i think? the blade batch numbered "1202" were the most weepy. haha but they have a problem with the blade, the tip would break off very easily. So when the company tried to improve the blade, they didn't do very well. it wasnt a flicky blade anymore. another thing i should point out..the blades look flickier than your's cuz they have high speed cameras so they look more flexible.

  • haha wut happend to the french team?

i really like brice guyart's style really wanted to see it.

o well...unless some1 can upload a vid of his fencing itd b much appreciated. :)

  • I like this cheremisinov, great style. I think Joppich's style is awfull, but very efective. The video is VERY GOOD; thanks for posting!

  • thanks

  • thanks
