"What if they freaked out in Minnesota?" -- well, they did and elected Bachmann. The really weird thing is, two of the people who moaned on this track are still at it. Check out the video of Dicey and Paprika's savage deconstruction of "Edge of Seventeen"...
what the fuck. this was on my recommended vids why? if you wana hear real fuckin music look up take that by flux pavilion or not ready to die by demon hunter
A miracle of sorts I noticed about this song: it exactly mimics the "melody" and chord changes in Prelude To The Genesis Suite by Arnold Schoenberg. Will try posting this to proove it.
@pvelectric I'd believe it. Zappa said that he wrote some twelve-tone music but found it to be too limiting. And the piano duo early in could be transplanted to "Civilization Phaze III" without sounding out of place.
@jackal59 I've a feeling Zappa will still be listened to a hundred years from now, and his work will only grow as especially classical music expands. thanks for your info and insight.
I remember being stoned and playing this album and " it cant happen here." this was 1969, and I laughed myself stupid. frank really knew how to mess with the head. actullay it was all tougne in cheek. he felt much of what sold commercially was worthless. his objective was to show just how bad it could be and still sell. his genius is revealed in that he can bad really good!
it already happened while you were buying that four door diesel pick-up. step on that peddle and listen that exhaust, wow you must be a real man. now go kill somebody for the banksters half way round the world to prove it.
@pacnwcomre I never really thought of the Doors as being avant-garde, considering all the bands playing in the same genre at the time, the pschedelic rock sound. I totally agree with the Zappa part though.
Frank Zappa : The first music troll , this is amazing
