Yeah, lighter "Buffy." That worked out really well. Only ya know, not. Sure, lighter than season 6, but like that was hard. Buffy herself, was pretty dour & dreary in S7. Sure, no longer self-destructive and abusing herself as she was in S6, but General Buffy was S7 was pretty unlikable. The Potentials and Kennedy and The First being even a lamer villain than either Adam or the Trio? No wonder seasons 6 and 7 had the lowest ratings of the series. Erm, I'm as bigger fan of Buffy as you're likely to find, but er, I think vampires have been inspiring stories since before Buffy. The show itself owes a hell of alot to vampire flicks that preceded it, like The Lost Boys and Near Dark. And Dracula was written 112 years ago before that :). Buffy wasn't the first, it was just better than alot of thoughtless vampire concepts. Not a new idea, but a clever new spin on a very old idea.
@sophia381 True, buffy did start it all. I don't care if TVD was written in 1991, Buffy was the first vampire TV series. That's very different from a book, they're two different text types -_-;;
i thought that. i wonder if she was refering to season seven as dark (she says 'this year' and it does say season 7 interview not 6), and to a planned season eight as being much lighter. before it was ended of course.
the comic series of season eight is very funny, so...
I guess when Sarah says there hadn't been funny, strong female driven shows - she completely forgot that Xena was doing everything Joss was doing first and in some cases better? They had their music episode way before Whedon, but who gets the praise?
um, except that Xena was a poorply-written show that didn't even try to be clever. Also, their musical episode was nothing but a gimmick. Terrible, terrible episode.
She's a human being for goodness sake. Even if she was rude, it was probably just a bad day for her or something that doesn't mean she's rude ALL the time. Some actors are like that honestly, but I've never really heard anyone outrightly say that Sarah Michelle Gellar is ALWAYS a bitch. She's usually described as very nice and pretty fun-loving.
actually warren 'n amy are ''minions'' or whatever to the big bad... the big bad in season 8 is twilight, the one with the mask. warren for example helped build the rocket thingy in time of your life.
I dont think she's a bitch or fake. If you see how she is with all of her fans and how much she is thankful for all the oportunities she has had i think you would think differently. I think you just have to look at her, kindness shines through her.
Season Six is the darkest season. It deals with so much going on with each cast member. It deals with everyone losing their ground and themselves and having to get that back, and some don't.
She was doing a scene, and Marc Blucas (Riley) was mocking her diolouge in a kidding way and the soundguy told her and Marc said SHE WENT OFF on him, really nailed into him, and he said it was one of his most embrassing moments. I'd say it'd be one of hers. I don't know if it's true. There are a lot of things about her that say she's awesome and just the same that say she's a bitch. It's hard to really tell unless you know her. Part of me thinks she could be cool, part of me thinks she isn't.
If a co worker was "teasing" her and she blew up at him there must have been a good reason. I mean, I see other actors tease her when she messes up and she laughs along. Who cares if she's a bitch or nice or whatever. She's just human. He offended her. Maybe it doesn't seem offensive to you but it was to her.
People can have different opinions about her. I have a different opinion about her. I think she can be nice but I also think she can very rude too. That is my opinion about her.
Totally. I never said you couldn't have your own opinion. I agree with you. She can be nice but she can also be rude, just like every other person in the world. Thats all I'm saying.

She was doing something for Buffy. A voice over or something, talking, he was in the background copying everything she was saying, trying to be funny, he was also copying her hand movement. The sound guy told her what he was doing, and she yelled at him in front of everyone, telling him to not do that again. I thought it was a bitchy thing on her part, because A) He's new. It was his first real major role, and she should have handled it better. "Please don't do that", does go a long way.
She seems like a nice person, but sometimes she just seems like she is a rude person. I agree, it was stupid on her part. No one deserves to be yelled at like that, as if they're beneath someone else.
you DO realize that, that comment was EXTREMELY prejudice don't you? You just judged a whole group of people without meeting every single actor in the world. EVERYONE has a blow up every now and then, even you the only difference is that your outbursts aren't put all over websites and tabloids
That's not what happened, that stories been changed a thousand times, what happened was a piece of the set fell on one of the co workers and she snapped at whoever set up the set saying it wasn't safe enough to work under and they should have been more cautious cause the guy who was hit could have been seriously injured but thankfully he wasn't. That's what happened. Honestly.
i remember watchin season 6 wen it was on and luvin it. then recently i watched seasons 1-3. i cant watch nemor cos i h8 the idea of buffy and angel not bein 2getha haha
hahah completely agree..its just like i loved spike from season 1-5 and then started gettin fed up with him cause he was all "ohh buffy! look i can be good!! look at me!! i love you!"
I thought he became more intresting with his obsession with buffy, it also made him more comedic...which james marsters is truely funny so he made spike great!
season 2 is still my favourite season ever. its so well written, the characters evolve so much...and of course theres angel (and dru and spike). and i also felt that season 6 and 7 were a bit too dark. HOWEVER, i re-watched 'chosen' today and it gave me chills. it was very very well done. i liked it better this time than the first or second time i saw it. joss whedon is brilliant.
don't forget to include the 5 awesome seasons of angel. really adds to the buffy story eh? i think we can all agree joss whedon truely is the man! the myth! 'n the legend! XD he rocks... who agrees? ;)
The whole thing that she thought the series was going to get "lighter" was no doubt because of Joss' typical practice of lies and deception. Even towards his cast members. I recall reading similar b.s. in various mags at the time. But while Joss is very talented and I like him alot he can be a control freak and fascist.
Buffy was so great, it wasnt just about ass kicking which was totally awsome but it was about growing up with the characters anf buffy and seeing what they go through in their lives. It was all just so awsome and i have seen every eppisode and was there from the first time it aired in the UK i think it was 1998 but i remember it was around christmas day and i was 11 then. Ended when i was 16...loyal to the end as promised
when she said "this year" she was referring to season 6.
clearly, becuase the add is for the START of season 7, the interview was made around the end of shooting season 6.
...although, i must say, they didn't go into much of a 'ligher place' like she thought they would...maybe for 2 episodes or something. "him" was a light one, but the rest of them were fairly dark.
I watch buffy all the time. I have the collectors set of all seven seasons and no matter what i watch an episode every night even if i watched it 60 times im so in love with it. Buffy and sarah are icons of today and tomorrows world and always will be.
me 2! i got both buffy 'n angel boxes complete, all ''european'' released after the fall comics, buffy season 8 comics, spike atf, the angel omnibus and im soon ordering all buffy omnibuses. tales of the slayer/vampire need only be picked up at the shop. ;)
mine are 2 'n 3, cuz of angel being in it. the buffy/angel & buffy/angelus, parts are so interesthing. i love angels broody attittude, his seriousness, and dark look. i even love the angel series over buffy's. (im a 20 year old guy, so i love angel cuz of his character not cuz of his looks, to prevent confusion lol XD)
haha. true. no character development. Okay, well maybe there was for a little while. I watched about a season of charmed about 2003 or something.
Another problem is that it takes itself too seriously. Buffy is aware of what it is. It jokes about it and draws on that aspect to develop the things that really matter. Charmed doesn't do that half as much.
Also, Charmed episodes have the worst resolutions ever.
i read that her contract was up and she didn't have any interest in renewing it. i dunno if the show would've gone on though... is anyone else reading the comics?i just read the new Faith one where she's trying to be a lady and stuff. i would love to hear her imitation of a british accent. if we had season 8 on tv it would be so amazingggg

I love both charmed and buffy and find them both kick ass!! however in response to a comment left about buffy's 8th season being in comic book form its way crap and too far fetched as weird as that sounds but the comics are ridiculous! and fyi do u know how many charmed books..not comics but books there are! loads! so shut it!
fuck charmed. i used to watch it but everyone turned into a slut and there was no longer a plot.you know, there's a million buffy fans that would lynch you for saying the musical sucks. your arguments are lame. i wouldn't be surprised if you were mentally retarded
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
first of all CHARMED IS WAYYYYYYY BETTER second of all i neva said any shit about buffy i said it looked ok but i just liked charmed better so why the hell u saying shit to me
CHARMED IS NOT BETTER THAN BUFFY AND NEVER WILL BE. OUR show is continuing in comic book form what's your show doing? oh right. ITS DONE.go post on stupid charmed videos, leave our buffy ones alone
charmed is better it broke records an wtf is with that weird as musical thing also charmed first eppisode got the higher ratings then buffys soo hahahahah
Now, now, calm down. Me = huge, huge, HUGE Buffy fan. Recently just purchased Charmed Boxset seasons 1-8 and equally as impressed. It's not about what's better, it's about being entertained and they both do that very well for me :) I can honestly say, I love both shows.
Charmed (as well as several other shows like Dark Angel and Alias) would have never existed if it wasn't for shows like Buffy that revolutionized the role of strong, female, lead characters in television. Buffy was one of the first true "genre" shows (as Joss calls them) in ages.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
buffy sounds O.k But i like charmed too much i idk i cant get into another show an charmed i hav to say is better then buffy in my opinon cause it was the highest rated show on sunday nights ever with young adults and it was the longest running show with female leads but buffy seems ok i never reall watched it only a couple times until i started to watch charmed i started watching charmed at about 4 with my sis an since i stood hooked
I don't blame sarah for anything, but i think she should've guest starred on Angel in his last season. I for one as a big fan of the Buffy/Angel love would have loved to see them two together again.
I've read that David was a bit upset that Sarah did'nt guest star on Angel because he felt like they were letting down the fans. I loved both shows, really sad that they ended!
I totally agree with you! I prefer the Buffy/Spike love story. They couldn't have carried on with the Angel/Buffy theme for 7 scenes. It was brave of them to end it when they did. Plus Spikes hotter and funnier :-)
yup, and their love story was more mature less melodramatic...Plus Spike loved her even without a soul and set out to get one to be the kind of man he felt she deserved and went through all those trails even though he could've given up. Plus the way he reacted verses the way Angel did when Buffy died...I just like Spike/ Buffy Angel/Cordy better :)
No way, Spike/Dru were my fave, that's when Spike was actually funny.. once he got the chip everything just went downhill.. and nothing beats the Angel/Buffy love.. even SMG was rooting for them, and admitted that they were soulmates
Yeah, lighter "Buffy." That worked out really well. Only ya know, not. Sure, lighter than season 6, but like that was hard. Buffy herself, was pretty dour & dreary in S7. ive heard she seems really bitchy and fake irl...anyone know if thats true?
raeanna5 3 years ago
She was doing a scene, and Marc Blucas (Riley) was mocking her diolouge in a kidding way and the soundguy told her and Marc said SHE WENT OFF on him, really nailed into him, and he said it was one of his most embrassing moments. I'd say it'd be one of hers. I don't know if it's true. There are a lot of things about her that say she's awesome and just the same that say she's a bitch. It's hard to really tell unless you know her. Part of me thinks she could be cool, part of me thinks she isn't.
1TreeHillRavens 3 years ago
yeah...i get that. she sends off mixed vibes to me 2
raeanna5 3 years ago
every can be bitchii..even if she is...i love her
SMGisthebest 3 years ago
She sounds human to me.
freepeaceagain 3 years ago 2
Of course she's human but she shouldn't have taken what he did so seriously. She went off on him and yelled at him in front of everyone.
1TreeHillRavens 3 years ago
If a co worker was "teasing" her and she blew up at him there must have been a good reason. I mean, I see other actors tease her when she messes up and she laughs along. Who cares if she's a bitch or nice or whatever. She's just human. He offended her. Maybe it doesn't seem offensive to you but it was to her.
freepeaceagain 3 years ago
People can have different opinions about her. I have a different opinion about her. I think she can be nice but I also think she can very rude too. That is my opinion about her.
1TreeHillRavens 3 years ago
Totally. I never said you couldn't have your own opinion. I agree with you. She can be nice but she can also be rude, just like every other person in the world. Thats all I'm saying.
freepeaceagain 3 years ago
Oh I know she's human, and I often offend her, I was just telling someone a story that was shared by Marc Blucas (Riley). Someone asked.
1TreeHillRavens 3 years ago
There are times I don't agree with her.

1TreeHillRavens 3 years ago
you DO realize that, that comment was EXTREMELY prejudice don't you? You just judged a whole group of people without meeting every single actor in the world. EVERYONE has a blow up every now and then, even you the only difference is that your outbursts aren't put all over websites and tabloids
GWTWobsessed 2 years ago
That's not what happened, that stories been changed a thousand times, what happened was a piece of the set fell on one of the co workers and she snapped at whoever set up the set saying it wasn't safe enough to work under and they should have been more cautious cause the guy who was hit could have been seriously injured but thankfully he wasn't. That's what happened. Honestly.

I'm with you on that 100%, as soon as they neutered spike, he became uninteresting.

I thought he became more intresting with his obsession with buffy, it also made him more comedic...which james marsters is truely funny so he made spike great!

I love season 6 and 7! Becuse it when Buffy and Spike is an item <3
kittyfox93 3 years ago 4
season 2 is still my favourite season ever. its so well written, the characters evolve so much...and of course theres angel (and dru and spike). and i also felt that season 6 and 7 were a bit too dark. HOWEVER, i re-watched 'chosen' today and it gave me chills. it was very very well done. i liked it better this time than the first or second time i saw it. joss whedon is brilliant.

KeybladeMaster009 2 years ago
buffys great, but she totally lied the series did not get "lighter"!
FJDKJFD 3 years ago

Nice. Although I think they missed the mark if they wanted season seven to be lighter:) But, I like the dark stuff.
Kellydoy 4 years ago
The way she word that, it sounds like there was 2 b a season 8.
altamatum 4 years ago
when she said "this year" she was referring to season 6.
clearly, becuase the add is for the START of season 7, the interview was made around the end of shooting season 6.
...although, i must say, they didn't go into much of a 'ligher place' like she thought they would...maybe for 2 episodes or something. "him" was a light one, but the rest of them were fairly dark.

mine are 2 'n 3, cuz of angel being in it. the buffy/angel & buffy/angelus, parts are so interesthing. i love angels broody attittude, his seriousness, and dark look. i even love the angel series over buffy's. (im a 20 year old guy, so i love angel cuz of his character not cuz of his looks, to prevent confusion lol XD)

charmed is effing crap
MrsWilliamTheBloody 4 years ago 3
I agree about charmed being crap. All you see are these long, ridiculous head, T, & A shots throughout every scene.
Like it's really important that we get a full close-up view of Holly Marie Combs mascara and Alyssa Milano's cleavage in every episode.
Not to mention the total lack of character development. Pathetic!
emmjay2662 4 years ago 3
haha. true. no character development.
MrsWilliamTheBloody 4 years ago
i read that her contract was up and she didn't have any interest in renewing it. i dunno if the show would've gone on though... is anyone else reading the comics?i just read the new Faith one where she's trying to be a lady and stuff. i would love to hear her imitation of a british accent. if we had season 8 on tv it would be so amazingggg

I love both charmed and buffy and find them both kick ass!! however in response to a comment left about buffy's 8th season being in comic book form its way crap and too far fetched as weird as that sounds but the comics are ridiculous! and fyi do u know how many charmed books..not comics but books there are! loads! so shut it!
minimofo 4 years ago
yea, there are a crap load of buffy books too. I would know since I always read them when I was younger.

Now, now, calm down. Me = huge, huge, HUGE Buffy fan. Recently just purchased Charmed Boxset seasons 1-8 and equally as impressed. It's not about what's better, it's about being entertained and they both do that very well for me :) I can honestly say, I love both shows.

buffy OWNS charmed.
charmed is terrible
...sorry.
MrsWilliamTheBloody 3 years ago 7
Charmed (as well as several other shows like Dark Angel and Alias) would have never existed if it wasn't for shows like Buffy that revolutionized the role of strong, female, lead characters in television. Buffy was one of the first true "genre" shows (as Joss calls them) in ages.

i love this show, i was so sad that it ended.
86aries 4 years ago 4
i agree, except that Spike and Buffy are better.
I know, I know. Angel and Buffy are so tragically romantic...but she's shared so much more with spike. Besides, he can't loose his pesky soul.
MrsWilliamTheBloody 4 years ago 4
DAMN RIGHT THEY ARE BETTER
lovelydecayxx 4 years ago 7
I totally agree with you! I prefer the Buffy/Spike love story. They couldn't have carried on with the Angel/Buffy theme for 7 scenes. It was brave of them to end it when they did. Plus Spikes hotter and funnier :-)
xjchalmx 3 years ago 6
Angel and Buffy were better I think. There could have been a future for those two. Spike is weird, mean, and his accent bugs.
RNMcentire 3 years ago
yup, and their love story was more mature less melodramatic...Plus Spike loved her even without a soul and set out to get one to be the kind of man he felt she deserved and went through all those trails even though he could've given up. Plus the way he reacted verses the way Angel did when Buffy died...I just like Spike/ Buffy Angel/Cordy better :)
GWTWobsessed 2 years ago 4
No way, Spike/Dru were my fave, that's when Spike was actually funny.. once he got the chip everything just went downhill.. and nothing beats the Angel/Buffy love.. even SMG was rooting for them, and admitted that they were soulmates
