I'm sure I meant Microsoft DOS (I'm always getting Microsoft and Windows mixed up interchangeably), but I'm sure I had no idea what I was talking about back then (as if that was such a long time ago). I need to try to get that thing up and running again. I'm not sure how, but the thing fried when I plugged it in not too long ago.

the CMOS is a memory not a battery

@bogdan7alex CMOS relies on a battery to maintain that memory, however. Hence, CMOS battery.

ya, you can buy a cmos battery on ebay or newegg or amazon or some other place, just get the model of the battery and thats it

pretty big - Mine is 4 inches tall, and about the size of a 15" even though it has a small screen.

lulz ho old skul, i dont reallt know anything about computers so, er, you buy new power supply, rewire a few things, acquire the lectrical layout and try to restore manually, sry but thats all i can say. Good job KMCMATT for the vid!

gahh! I just used an hour for half of the selections - its really slow on mine its like 3-5 minutes per try so i have 25 left

this is also my dad's comp and we cant find the origonal setup discs or the battery right now

ill try to do this in the morning its midnight right now :(

so my comp basically is really slow and it beeps well not beeps like humms wierd so i have to wait a long time so it makes it take a really long time each time

also, the hp/ls12 is the zenith. it is only an oem that hp bought. it is the exact same laptop with different software/hdd

ok heres the deal with mine

the hp "museam" has the ls/12 setup files for floppy

they download to .td0 files (td-zero)

i had to download a program from the 90's to use it on my main laptop, and it only works for 5 inch floppys. So, I have been trying to find the right hdd. My computer makes beeping noises, and takes longer - a lot longer for it to load. It will take about 5 hours to go through all 50. Thanks for the help and i'll try to keep this posted.
