  • "You are serious about this? What...a flashing light on a pole?"

    HAHAHA :D

  • what a fucking idiot hahaha, how do u spen 24k on those plastic pieces of shit? i can go buy something similar form maplins for like 20 quid lol

  • scene flashing directions in dubais superfast 6 lane highways

  • The lady at the signs department doesn't like the idea...and neither does my mom.

  • you wouldn't need that... stop signs have visibility stickers placed on them so car's headlights will make them shine if it was hard to see

  • If you add yt:stretch=16:9 to the tags (the first item) the picture will be the correct width.

  • English sometimes tend to become rude.....actually most of the times......specially the woman

  • I still don't really understand what they're for!

£24,000 already wasted on these? Maybe he should sell them as Christmas lights!

  • What a load of shit.

  • "What have you got a patent for?"

"Because it's a good idea" Lol

  • @Proman476 lol

  • He completely fails to present a persuasive case for his idea, but he really does have a patent... do a search on "derek cozens patent".

  • I dont think he know's what a patent is.

  • What a waste of LEDs. These people give the tech industry a bad name.

  • johns in a strange town and young suzies having it large doing her make up.....a valid pitch i think :)

  • They'd be better off just putting arrows all over the sign.

  • He explained it poorly but I kind of get how a light representing oncoming traffic could help because it can be difficult to see silver type cars on misty days. Still not a great idea but it might have some applications.

  • Was this dude on LSD AND shit when he is driving or invented this shit device, look at all the different colours will lead you all the way to the exit, weird fuck up old dude.

  • Most signs I see are double sided. So I guess that makes his product redundant. Obsolete. Not needed.

  • I don't understand how this system works, all the flow signals look the same?

  • @robk23oxf I thought that.... Thought it was just me! Though I do agree with him that the present road signs are NOT adequate for the modern age. Speed limits, car speeds and traffic flow has become higher since the day of the designed traffic signs. Just crossing a road at a junction on foot is a night mare.. even if there are crossing cordons, not all lights are visible to the person on foot. So you end up judging if cars are slowing down to stop,

  • It's not the worst pitch, it's the product

The man was coherent and understandable, it's just the thing he's trying to produce is shit

  • 6:30

he just wants us to know about the traffic lights

  • I think this guy have Asperger. He seems to be very obsessed with his own idea and dosent seems to care about peoples reaction just talking on even thou they dont wanna listen.

  • Rubbish idea as it was, I h8 the way they take he mic out of people without even thinking.

  • Isn't it amazing how anyone with a few million in the bank think they have the God given right to ridicule anything they want to?. TV show or not, this guy had passion about his product and his committment should have been embraced. The signal on the traffic lights could have been taken seriously as the power is already there, but the lifeless existing signs would be highly expensive. Duncanshould have understood him as the Scots built the modern world with their inventions... including TV!

  • This is a bit like trying to reinvent the wheel. Nothing is simpler then a large icon with reflective material. If one was to add some sort of light, forget this "flow" crap. Just put a little flashing beacon on the poles so they are noticed in very bad traffic areas. What the guy doesn't get is that there is no wires attached to these signs. Imagine the huge cost in wiring up every sign in a country.

  • its a helpful safety idea in theory. he probably thinks he needs the money to bribe government officials for approval.

ive been in the passenger seat when a drunk driver got punched from the backseat to prevent him from making a wrong way turn onto a highway.

its not the worst invention; its the worst product to sell. it goes in places where wrong-way signs are more easily missed in the dark/rain etc (he needs some LEDs.

  • Those dragons are assholes.

  • i feel so bad for this guy

  • I think the idea is good but the pitch is shit

  • lol

  • So people have accidents and die in cars because of bad road signs. Who gives a shit.

That is unless they are your family.

  • There is a wrong way sign...the back of the other signs.

  • i feel bad for him

  • You would think it would be useless except for when a two way road suddenly turns into a one way with no warning after an intersection, and there isn't a sign, or they are easy to miss, and it is required to turn left or right, go staight, you head into opposing traffic's left turning lane. Still, this isn't profitable, how do you patent a light on a pole? And cost, 24000? I would believe 2400 if it has computer circuits to connect to the existing traffic network

  • The sad thing is that despite this wake up call, he carried on pursuing this light idea even after leaving the den. I guess nothing the dragons said sunk in.

  • @INDIANBLANKET just because it seems like a bad idea doesnt mean it is? think of areoplanes that was a shit idea but look how that turned out lolz.

  • WHY IS IT A WORST IDEA? THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER!!! oh, its time for my medication. **GULP** Ahhh.....why has that man put lights in a pole? What the hell is going on?

  • @atomicnortherner very funny comment mate :) but on another note why do dragons have to be so rude? ... I mean thats just ridiculous

  • @89strangelove i agree, they dont have to be nasty, thats why I like Hilary. She smiles an listens and only gets cross when the pitcher seems to have no idea or hides things about the very business they own and are asking money for. All the others have been rude or nasty for no reason

  • It'd be funny if this thing took off and he became a millionaire

  • @xtremetvfan Funny, but highly unlikely!

  • @xtremetvfan he already did...

  • It would be funny, if the poor sod hadn't invested so much of his hard earned cash.

  • what a shower of cunts.

  • way a retard why wood anyone think of this.

Now thats what i call PWNAGE!!

  • HEEEEY JOOOOOOHN - YOU'RE GOING THE WRONG WAAAY!!!!!

  • @Kent6494 lol thats the most retarded part

  • poor guy

  • was actually a pretty good presentation.

  • 7:20 I'll listen to you Derek LOL

  • Feel so sorry for him :(

  • he put in £24,000 for that pile of 'signs'

  • i remember seeing this at the time and thinking 'what the fuck'

  • Oh my god, poor Derek.

  • I went down the sliproad on the M25 yesterday and I saw no entry signs face on 100% of the time lol

  • "give it up"

    no.... yeah okay

  • It says "'ere John, you are going the wrong way..."

  • ATTENTION SIGN AHEAD

  • send in the next poor person

  • she doesnt like the idea? no hahahaha

  • I feel sorry for this guy.He should have appeared in the comedy show version of D.D.

    What a waste!

  • Dying of cancer? What do you do? You fit a flow signal!

  • In the immortal words of daffy duck , " I demand you shoot me now "

  • That guy was so sad. Nothing more pityful than someone who can't see he is doing something hopeless.

  • Just me or does he look like G-man?

  • @TheCrafterJoe It's all a plan to kill Mr. Freeman while driving

  • I'm pretty certain this idea emerged, after a mr Cousins mistakingly took a slip road onto the m4, and was consequently missed the birth of his 1st son.

"you are going the wrong way, you are going through a strange town, you've never been there before, your coming to the traffic lights 'turn right', you have to turn right"

did this guy write down his pitch before hand? surely not

absolute comedy gold, big up Derek Cousins i want to be his friend!

  • He was on a good idea, he just needs to develop the idea more.

  • Just because it's a unseccessful product doesn't make it an unseccessful pitch. However in this case that point is wrong.

  • His lights are class

  • makes more sense than justin bieber tryin 2 b an actor

  • So typically British!!! someone thinking you need a second sign to show the first sign!! Where does it end, in a couple of years needing a third sign to show you the first two, and the whole thing costing more so we all have to pay twice as much road tax.

  • Duncan is such an arsehole. Everyone else I like even though they're harsh. Has he ever actually invested in anything? And when he does want to Invest people never pick him because he's such a wanker.

  • @brokeandfixed Think of the pleasures he will receive if he spent 24 grand on hookers. Yum!

  • But but ... can I just tell you about the traffic lights....

  • the man with automatic egg machine was worse.

  • Comment removed

  • feel so sorry for the guy.

  • most boring pitch ever, this guy needs some cocaine and redbull

  • How funny. Like a flashing strip of ledbulbs will solve every problem in traffic. Hahaha what planet is he on?

  • To be fair the guy had absolutely zero presentation skills

  • Comment removed

  • sid james woud be proud of this chap...carry on derek lmao

  • I do not understand that at all.

  • What is wrong with you people? This man is a greedy pig. He wants to install some blinking lights, patent them, and make a fortune. Utmost greed and complete misunderstanding of how business works.

  • Man, this guy comes up there with an idea he thinks can save lives and gets completely shot down, but doesn't answer back or anything, even if the idea isn't very good. Poor guy.

  • Lmao. 'that way, there's a sign..'

  • rich people are bastards. fair enough the idea is horsepiss, but that doesn't mean the guy should be belittled like that. props to GoukiAKUMAHoshi for that response btw

  • I fucking hate the "dragons". Bunch of arrogant pretentious snobs, what good would they be in a real life situation? They sit there like the worst possible clique, sneering and mocking the people in front of them, honestly they just come across as the worst scum of the earth, greedy, arrogant, capitalist and exhibiting zero charm or politeness. What's wrong with good manners? And that blonde bitch has no fucking money, she's just there to meet the ovary requirements for a primetime tv show

  • duncan listens to him. what a great guy. feel sorry for this bloke. so passionate about it.

  • Drivers do not see road signs, not because they are invisible, but because drivers do not want to see them. He is trying to give a solution to something that must not be solved by him, but drivers must solve themself. He wants to do something good, bu this doesn't meen is a good idea or a good product. P.S Vandals would like to break those lights.

  • Thought it was a bit rude that some of the Dragons sat there and started laughing at him.. at least he got up and did something about an idea he had.

  • haha i saw this pitch when it aired :')

  • "What have you got a patent for?"

"Cos it's a good idea" lmao

  • "Young Suzy"

  • epic fail

  • You have to feel sorry for him really. He tries to do right, and he is determined his product will work, but it takes him this long for someone to tell him that his 24k was a waste.

  • When a one way sign is pointing in the opposite direction youre going in, doesnt that mean youre going the right way?

  • I think that is a fantastic product actually. I learnt to drive abroad, and I am not used Uk side of the road. I go back to the UK very often, but every time I have a problem with which side of the road to be on. when there are no cars on the road it is the worst, If I have gotten confused again, I have to drive in the middle of the road until I see a car coming and then move to the oposite side. I have even gone round roundabouts the wrong way before. These would help so much!

  • @adtellytv If you would just hand your drivers license back to the authorities, that would help the rest of us so much!

  • @MeMyselfAndEyez

Even better option.. I just choose to live in a country where we drive on the correct side of the road, usually with loads of sun and no debt crisis :). I sure wont be returning back to the Uk to live anytime soon :)

  • @adtellytv No debit crisis.... so your living in china not the USA now? lol :-)

  • @adtellytv No debt crisis in this household my friend - in fact, we ain't ever been better off! And you're mailing from the US saying *we* (the UK) have a debt crisis? lolololol...

  • Shark Tank pisses all over this crap.

  • craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap

  • he spent 24k for some LED's connected to a 50p sequencer chip

  • At first this was hilarious because it was soo blantly stupid but as he clinged on to the idea it became sader and sader as I realised he was dead serious.

  • no one would know wtf the flashing lights mean

  • Comment removed

  • chocolate fire-guard in the pipeline

  • His latest invention is a water proof teabag ...

  • @bazatc01 LMFAO

  • @bazatc01 i heard he's just brought out a smoke alarm with a snooze button lol

  • If i was him and i realised i was going to lose out on investment i would of dropped my pants and start to wank off till they called security.

  • @dilwich123 they wouldnt put it on tv tho obv.

  • You see the red going this, the blue going this way the green going this way LMAO

  • I feel bad for him because he seems like a nice man.

  • What in the blue hell is he talking about?

  • He must be the biggest bore in Boredom.

  • This is just awkward

  • She doesnt like the idea............LMAO

  • I'm learning to drive and having to learn all those signs as well would just confuse the hell outta me :/

  • It's a great idea. Don't listen to them Derek. I'm serious. Although you wouldn't want them everywhere as that could be too distracting, but still like in a car parkade or in many man situations one would think you'd want this type of thing. The only challenge might be getting public traffic sector approval and maybe the patents.

  • this guy might have aq stupid prduct but i respect him more than the others. This guy doesnt argue back or raise his voice. He's a nice guy so i feel kinda sorry for him

  • @itsTheSarz hes a nice guy and look where it gets you in business

  • @itsTheSarz

    Nice guy lol...

  • @itsTheSarz then ur a retard

  • His pitch was awful plus no back up from the highway. Why did he think they would buy into this, strange!!!

  • penis and more penis mmmmm ........sexy penis

  • like shark tank,but i'm american.

  • @RADIO1990 Shark tank copied dragons den.

  • I think you'd realise you're going the wrong way on the M4 when a lorry plows through your clio and turns you into road spaghetti.

  • 7:18 "will you listen to me duncan for 5 minutes?" "I'll listen to you dereck" thats priceless!! I love the other dragons expressions!!

  • It's more fun with Kevin oLeary

  • i just feel bad for him :(

  • He needs to convince the athorities on this before going further....

  • hes proper trying loool

  • "What have you got a patent for?"

    "Its a good idea!"

    lulz.

  • this reminds me of david brent

  • lol love it! i think it would be cheaper to re-paint worn road markings than fit an electric flash light to a sign pole. weird the guy didn't think that way

  • What a shit idea hahaa

  • this wud distract so many drivers ! this man is a sad lonely broke man!!!

  • Poor bastard. What the hell was he thinking? People don't understand the "no entry" symbol, but they'll definitely understand it if there are flashing lights beneath it.

  • its only like 1 or 2 people a year who go down the wrong way. and the traffic lights problem??? surely im not the only fucking person who doesn't understand that issue. if its anything other than a red light....all the rest of the entry parts of the traffic light junction will be red, and all cars will be stopped. any oncoming traffic will be a few hundred yards away. the dragons should've just said 'you're out'

  • Actually I don't think it's a bad idea really; some kind of system like this seems inevitable.

  • There's a sign there that way looooooool

  • what a cocksucker

  • Bafflingly stupid idea.

  • Forget being shot down, the dude got nuked!

  • This aint the most stupid. There was a couple who put a line in the middle of a bed and said it will stop the blanket stealing problem.

  • @theangryteddybear1 I'm glad someone remembered that, definitely the worst idea ever

  • So, we send a flow signal...LMAO

  • it's a rubbish idea but I don't see the need for the dragon's to crush him that way they could easily politely point out the idea is flawed and told him not to continue to pursue this plan as it will only result in his life getting worse. Poor guy!

  • i can see in the next 5 or so years lcd signs that can change. or something similar, but nothing as stupid as that....

  • @MISSYxxP same. this idea is atrocious.

  • We haven't heard about the traffic light problem yet!

  • The idea really wasn't that bad. And I hate the way the dragon's keep saying 'it's a light on a pole'- like because it's simple it's necessarily stupid.

  • Self-deluded to the point of self-destruction.

  • Warning incoming Derek cousins

  • LMAO OMG

  • "There are other applications for these signals as well..."

Yes, like positioning them outside your local labour party office to remind us of the swathes of uneducated, ignorant lazy people socialist policies has created.

Not everyone has the ability to drive cars without consistently risking the lives of others - WE SEE THIS EVERYDAY ON OUR ROADS.

  • "This is a one-way street sign, but what happens if you go the wrong way, you see this..." - what an insult.

You're clearly a danger and shouldn't be fucking driving a car. IQ tests should be standard.

    Castrate that man, now!

  • 1:23

Does ne1 know the strange town his goin on about?

'you have never been there before'

SOMEONE HERE MUST KNOW... DO SAY!!

  • I feel so fucking bad for this man

  • And maybe he started this idea because a loved one of his died in a car accident.

  • I feel sorry for him. He was only trying to be considerate and make the roads safer, it's just he has invented an add on to a system that already works.
