It isn't as cheap as you'd expect- $24.95, and it's burnt-to-order by Warner Brothers, but the print is actually surprisingly good quality, and it's just as much fun as I remembered it being in the early 80s, watching it on late night monster movies as a kid.

@ValEGwangi I wish an official release would come out. I'm not holding my breath though. I have a downloaded copy that's pretty decent but there are some spots with VHS errors on them where the tape that it was recorded from had flaws in it.

Completely terrible film. Coming from me, of course that means that it's a totally AWESOME film. I love this movie. And just think, a few years later Richard Jaeckel won a freaking Oscar. Awesome. Kaiju meets American Sci-fi pre 2001. Green Slime is a winner, and the song rocks. Sounds like it was done by Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. Listen to the vocals. Totally Dr. Teeth. Love this flick.

Brilliant! I taped "The Green Slime" on TBS in January 1988...during a bad ice storm, as I recall. (I was fourteen, and we got out of school for nearly a week.) Last night I was digging around in a batch of old tapes and found this film, still intact! It was so much fun to watch it again.

you are so right. I was born in 57. raised on Sci fi. Even got a BSME and a MS math. USAF captain on space projects. Hippy days were more stimulating. But that theme song..dear sweet god!! That alone is worth buying the movie. A fine example of Americans doing something better than the Japs.
