Where there people inside the slime suits or were they just mechanical robots ... ? They do seem very realistic ... I wonder if they could survive on earth? Shocking ... !
It isn't as cheap as you'd expect- $24.95, and it's burnt-to-order by Warner Brothers, but the print is actually surprisingly good quality, and it's just as much fun as I remembered it being in the early 80s, watching it on late night monster movies as a kid.
@AshleyMarkPomeroy thanks I was trying to remember that one but both Bringers of Wonder and Dragon's Domain are good episodes I do prefer the first season over the second.
'specially like the opening scene with the Slimers waving about in the foreground, the spacemen flying left and right in the middle and the escape pod zooming up in the back. a veritable blue-screen orgy of matte-lines and frantic, aimless activity. get the wackiest 1980s music-video and this just leaves it in the dust. I'm euphoric.
I have a semi-bootleg "foreign" DVD copy, pretty good transfer but no bonus features. Some sites claim they have torrents but I haven't downloaded them.
@ValEGwangi I wish an official release would come out. I'm not holding my breath though. I have a downloaded copy that's pretty decent but there are some spots with VHS errors on them where the tape that it was recorded from had flaws in it.
One of the most stupid, cheap, bad acting sci-fi flicks ever made, but loads of fun! I saw this as a kid, I couldn't believe the actors took this so seriously!
Completely terrible film. Coming from me, of course that means that it's a totally AWESOME film. I love this movie. And just think, a few years later Richard Jaeckel won a freaking Oscar. Awesome. Kaiju meets American Sci-fi pre 2001. Green Slime is a winner, and the song rocks. Sounds like it was done by Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. Listen to the vocals. Totally Dr. Teeth. Love this flick.
Brilliant! I taped "The Green Slime" on TBS in January 1988...during a bad ice storm, as I recall. (I was fourteen, and we got out of school for nearly a week.) Last night I was digging around in a batch of old tapes and found this film, still intact! It was so much fun to watch it again.
The 21st Century sucks - I wanna be wearing a space suit, killing aliens with my lazer, like they promised - instead, all we got was the shitty internets. :(
you are so right. I was born in 57. raised on Sci fi. Even got a BSME and a MS math. USAF captain on space projects. Hippy days were more stimulating. Luckily internet allows a little research into other things. buddhism., more asian music. Helped me plan nine trips to asia. But this scientist did not get the pretty girl. You rock Mr, Fantastic. Loved UFO tv series, Lost in Space. Time tunnel had its moments. And I remember Green Slime for sure.
Nice reply. BUT what would you rather have: trips to Asia to learn about Buddhism, or trips into space to defend the Earth from glowing green alien monsters with a laser cannon while listening to whistling "space" music? :D
wow. now that would be a tough call. As a kid, I wanted to go into space and fight space monsters with asian girls! Smart scientist always was the hero and got the girl. What a nutty upbringing.
Hey! gk10995329rf7ffj v! What are you talking about? Me Bob and Dave......we're GOD!!! Isn't that enough for you!? Right now, at this very moment,we are opening up a box of cheese twits!! EXCELSIOR!!

This is the religious missing link I lost and now have finally found! The tune and the hi-tech visuals have been stirring in my head since those days and influencing everything I have ever done. Thank you Swami, Peace be with you.
This movie reminds me of the nerd version of Barbarella with Jane Fonda (only real accomplishment of hers anyone cares about haha). Man I havent seen that movie since it was out at the drive-ins back when it was new at the Sheridan just outside Chicago on 79th and Harlem.
It's on E-bay. Transfer from VHS-the Region 2 Japanese release is not in Eng. or with subs. This movie runs on TCM several times a year, check the website.
