  • bet that 4.0 still will run under the hood

    lol

  • i can bet ya he bought another one after that

  • I had a 97 XJ with a five speed and lost it in a wreck, she's still my hero and I'll always treasure the memories that only she could give me. R.I.P. Red Baron. Thank you for the video.

  • i got the same one but 2 door and stick shift....nice cars

  • Yes, you are very lucky. Sorry to see you lose your XJ. I have had 7 of them over the years, and have a '96 right now. I have been pretty fortunate, since I have not been in one single wreck in my life; with over 1,000,000-miles under my belt, I feel pretty luck!

  • I have a 2000 trail rig, but my DD is a 91 wagoneer. My favorite all around vehicle of ALL time is the 91-94 cherokee Laredo's and Country's. No stupid airbags, good looking interior, HD 4x4, solid axles, coils up front for a good ride, leafs out back for hauling cargo.

AND it gets 20 MPG! My waggy only gets ten, but what do you expect its a 5.9L carbed V8!

  • @austinaubinoe My modified '96 XJ gets 28mpg highway and has seen a best of 30.5mpg. It has 3.5" of lift, 255/75r15s, rear LSD, front Spartan Locker, 5sp, gears have been changed to 3.55:1 (had 3.07s). The injectors are from 2 Dodge Neons, throttle body has been modded, and has aftermarket air filter with cold-air intake. I am a mechanical engineer, BTW. Everybody with an XJ should do these mods! The MPG has been confirmed with GPS; even though my speedo is perfect now.

  • I totally loved the Jeep heaven. I will be totally honest with you bro, it would still be alive today if you just would have invested in some quality off-road mud tires because traction is SO important in the snow! Ice? SNOW CHAINS!!! I hope you have since bought another JC or JGC

  • i have a cherokee '99 and i love it so much!!

  • this is great! you are a real jeep driver! ;-)

  • por Cherokee. made me sad. xj owners tend to love their jeeps more then most people. both of mine are my baby's but sadly one is gonna get sold here in like two weeks. it was good to me but its 2wd and the steering is funky so I got me one with 4x4. easier and probably cheaper then converting the one. il miss it and its crazy steering but il have many years with the more capable safer one.

  • Que triste..... lo siento mucho

  • ah ... i cant stop crying . . . this reminds me of my parents jeep that they sold to some kid who ended up wrecking it

  • I BET HE GOT ANOTHER ONE LOL

  • @mopartshemi2 actually ive had 2 since this one :)

  • I have a 96 grand cherokee. i dont know what I'd do if something happened to that. ive had a couple come close to hitting me. Sorry to hear about your Jeep. I love those older cherokees. Someday I'll have one of those too. The older jeeps are the best. At least your ok. it looks like the jeep handled that tree pretty well.

  • R.I.P xj

  • brought a tear to my eye :'(

  • i loved my first jeep. it was a 96 xj sport. Then i was given the chance to get a 97 tj for a hell of a price and i sold my xj to another jeep lover and he has modded the piss out of it and still has it to my knowledge

  • crazy shit eh? i loved mine so much i went out and bought a newer one :)

  • dude...my first vehicle...1992 cherokee laredo, crashed it! went off top of 25 ft. hill i also bent the steering wheel with chest and neck and my head hit windsheild a little and cracked it, also my knees went into dash and broke it.

  • dude...my first vehicle...1992 cherokee laredo, crashed it!

  • I know how you feel man... My first car was an 88 Cherokee Laredo. She passed on when a suspended driver tried to do an illegal turn and cut me off. after all she did for us it was such an unfitting end. Now I want a cherokee for my second car. Why? I dun fell in love.

  • my friend has a jeep grand cherrokee loredo 1999 they have hit 2 deer 1 car head on and a wall with it.. they hit the wall doing about 20-30 mph thanks to black ice and they were doing 20mph when the car hit them head on doing about 30mph. they hit the deer at about 40-50 mph it still looks brand new except the steering wheel looks likes u r turning all the time. jeeps run strong and die hard.

  • @weasle48 Jeep all the fucking way man! Wooo!

  • A love for a Jeep goes strong.

  • jeeps are wonderful little vehicles my favorites bein the CJ's, Wranglers, and the Cherokees but ill never be able to thank my first XJ enough for saving my life that night and i know exactly what you feel because i cried when i realized theres nothing i could do. however on the brighter side she still lives on to an extent. many of the parts she had that were okay are now on my 95XJ in fact im doing a fuel pump swap today =] thanks for watching

  • My mom had a '99 Cherokee sport, which she babied and loved like a childhood pet. She died when I was 16, leaving the Jeep to me. I always felt like she was there with me when I drove it, and when I slid across a mountain road into a power pole, I felt like she had died all over again. But I, my girlfriend, and my dogs all walked away from the crash relatively unharmed. I couldn't help myself, I kissed the steering wheel and said "thank you, Mama" before the tow truck pulled it away.

  • When my brother's friend borrowed his 88 xj 2 door and rolled it, my brother looked like he had just been dumped. twice.

    It's a jeep thing O|||||||O

  • My mom, Is 53. She has a 1995 Jeep Cherokee, 5 Speed Standard, Two Door, Its black with many dings and dents, It was built in Toledo Ohio, Built at exactly 12:00 AM on Febuary 14, 1995. So we have kept our Bessie running strong since 1995. I am only 13. But nothing is happening to my future car. If any moron wrecks it. I will have to kill. In my family, Its Me, My mom, And my grandma. And we all love her. Everyone else in our family hates it. Only in a Jeep. And eff the rest of the NEW fam cars.

  • That is just like a jeep, got your back right til the end!

I just got myself a 94 XJ for $350, it has 270k miles on it, and there is plenty more to go. Love that thing to death <3 just like the family hound

  • Jeep OllllllO

  • Well it being a jeep makes it wind tight at around 110mph. And it is a low end torque motor carbed or fuel injection it's not going to be fast. You can outrun things like civics and other older stock 4 cylinders but it's really not worth the effort. Use your jeep for what it was intended getting you from a to b and offroading :) enjoy

  • @92XJlaredo i havent fixed my jeep yet, i had to get a new water pump, hoses, thermostat, and i might need a radiator. otherwise it just needs a new ignition lock and door locks. i can tell this jeep is very slow compared to my 96 cherokee sport. my 96 is faster than a crown vic police interceptor, and i know that for a fact :)

  • i just got a 89 laredo 4.0, how fast is it compared to a 90's cherokee or cherokee sport? is it slow? i think its obd or obd1, its NOT carbed.

  • @dnl5649 the 91 and newer had the 4.0 HO motors, whereas yours has the plain 4.0. both have tons of low end power, and can get up to 55 mph nice and quickly.

but I wouldn't suggest racing your XJ, they aren't made for that, go hit some trails and enjoy the vehicle as it was meant to be!

  • @holmd90 the only thing that i noticed thats different between the 91 and up jeep 4.0's and this one, is that the throttle body on this non-ho is tiny!!!!! its like 35 mm in diameter compared to the 62mm throttle body on my 96

  • @dnl5649 there are a few differences internally, I can't remember them all at the moment. and the computers are also different. I loove my HO 4.0, it has mountains of torque

  • Feel for you man. Had to sell my 96 two months ago. Saddest day of my life. I went in the ditch a couple times with it and drove out both times. Once of a 10 foot drop at 80KM/H into woods. After getting myself calmed down I drove her right out and back home.

Sold it to someone who had his ran into by another driver. He was so happy to have another one, he's sent me pictures of what he's done to it every month since. I Know mine's gone to a good home :) 320k and still running strong as ever.

  • 300,000 miles......she had a good life

  • bet that bad boy can drive another 100 thousand miles in that condition!

  • sad to see a jeep down like that at least it did not get the cash for clunkers treatment those fuckin pricks ruining those poor cars damn it pisses me off glad to see your ok though sad to see a chyslers baby smashed up

  • great vid mate, well done :)

  • It is really big pity that such great car was destroyed but the most important is that you are ok and came out from this crash alive. I guess that you hit a tree. It is really dangerous. Song from Crank 2 High Voltage;) Wish you all the best with your new Cherokee;-)

  • I'll give you 50 bux for the rear hatch . I loved the vid. next time I'm drinkin I'll poor a drop out in its memory.

  • I would have wanted to die with my jeep!

  • Wow the tree didnt just cave in the front but actually bent the whole chassis

  • i did the same thing to my 1992 jeep cherokee laredo two weeks after bought it! But one week after the crash i fixed it- since that point things have been breaking allover but i still love my jeep!

  • Nice video, i have one XJ to so i understand you men...

I dont want to loose it

  • Sad:( [*]

  • Kinda effed up but you know you could probably repair that with 500 dollars worth of junkyard parts and some effort with a sledge and a pickup truck to pull the unibody .But you know what I'm glad u are alive. I am an idiot for driving mine into a parked car while tanked but I put it back together the next day....Its got almost 201k and I run lucas oilin it all day. 93 octane once a month. it loves that shit ya know.

  • @Synsofgawd now any more man....its been sittin for over a year now. the front of the frame rails are all fucked over and the tree hit smack in the center of the crank shaft, splitting it in half, so in which case yeah 500 worth of body and front end parts, plus a motor :) no biggie tho, i have a 95 xj that just turned 228K the other day so that will be my goal, revisit my old mark and surpass it :) in honor of my fallen friend, and mine never likes premium or Lucas, Valvoline and 87 octane :)

  • @92XJlaredo man, my mom just sold her 94 xj jeep cherokee sport for a little dodge neon and it sucks. i was gonna get up some money and buy it off of her cause she just drove it from a to b. she never treated it like a jeep by doing what jeeps do best, 4 wheelin, huntin and mud boggin. to me, not taking it 4 wheelin or trail ridin every once in a while was kinda neglecting it. she was afraid of tearing it up although i am a good driver when 4 wheelin plus jeeps are made for that specific reason.

  • that was really sad, i just bought my 2 days ago cheek out my vid of it

  • jesus it reminds me of my 01 with 250,000 less miles that i ran off a frozen path and hit a tree goin ice fishin on a small hard-to-get-to pond. Same effect but i had it another 2 years. Sold it to some schmuc (did i spell that right?)

  • Love OiiiiiO

  • nothing of the new one up yet, i got one of mine soon to have one up of the gril i dea ri stole from u

  • how did it feel wen you hit that steering wheel?

  • I feal the pain :S

  • Glad you walked out of it buddy

  • @jeep4jeep lol that isnt bad as the other video i saw

  • Rest in Peace

  • bet that fuckin sucked

  • love = OiiiiiiO

  • ='(

  • My XJ (red over gray) is only 9 days younger than your old one, 92XJ.

I like to joke that it was built on Mischief Night in "holy" Toledo. Actually, it was built at 6 AM on Wednesday, October 30, 1991 according to the door sticker.

What part of our beautiful Commonwealth of Pennsylvania do you call home?

    Bill in Bucks County

  • @OldsVistaCruiser

I am in Susquehanna PA sir. :) and yes it IS beautiful and ive discovered over 70 miles of the local fourwheeler trails with my 95 XJ :) whole lotta fun jeeps are, carebear is gettin an overhaul this summer as i just bought a motorcycle a few days ago so shes gettin some major upkeep and upgrades, thanks for watchin :)

  • I feel your pain 92XJlaredo. I totaled my first Jeep XJ. It was like the family dog died. I bought another one though, 88 XJ laredo. Been driving it for 12 years through hell and back and still going strong.

  • I own a '92 Cherokee Laredo which has nearly as many miles as the one in this video had - it's my daily driver and I love it. You can hear it run here on YT - "Quarter-million-mile '92 Cherokee 4.0".

My XJ has LITERALLY been to Hell and back - twice! I took it out to the "Vista Cruise to Hell and Back", which is a car club campout that I organize in the little town of Hell, MI.

Like 92XJlaredo, I live in PA. When I lost my 1st '69 Vista Cruiser (out of 3) to a wreck, I felt the same way.

  • o|||||||o long live jeep

  • best part about Cherokees is they cheap and OHHHH so beautiful so rebuild you baby in a different body and just take the dash out and put it in your new one so she will always carry on...

  • sorry man...god my friend went through this two he flipped his end over end....ull get through it man..God bless

  • Jeep Love :) LoL

  • dang I could cry.

  • my 93 rolled 14 times down a mountian and is bent to shit but I wouldnt trade it for any other vehicle!!!

  • My 92 cherokee was in two accidents and its still on the road , which I'm very thankful for. First time I hydroplaned off the road and took out a fire hydrant . Second time was alot worse , Going between 55 - 70 { not sure } and slammed into a stopped Honda Civic and totaled it . My Cherokee drove away . Sucks the tree did this to yours . You and I are both lucky. I know how much I love mine ..

  • ford fags? I own a ford, work with five other f450, our oldest is a 2002 and it has never had anything replaced besides alternator, tires and lubricants and it has over 400,000 miles, my boss has a 99 and it has original everything besides turbo, ehaust, chip and it has 367,000 miles and still running like a champ as for the jeeps i love the xj's i just got one although its sitting on jack stands right now, needs new flexplate but i love her anyway.....we have alot of work to do <3 OIIIIIIO

  • well... i guess theres a first time for everything, and i apologize for referring to you as a fag...haha its just a general bash twoards non jeepers and i particularly dont like fords, however i know there are always exceptions to every generality and you get fords that run forever and jeeps that die within a year :) thanks for the comment and NOT hatin! keep on jeepin and fordin' if you do that kind of thing that is

  • yes jeep=love. i picked up an 89 for 400 bucks put a 2" budget lift on it and it has taken me everywhere i have wanted to go, even cross country road trip (with 240000 miles with no problem). I am so suprised about it cause i never have been too into jeeps before i got my xj, i have learned so much. i want to keep it forever. your video makes me sob a little cause i think about my life without a jeep and how much it would suck. ALL JEEPS GO TO HEAVEN!

  • i have a black '92 XJ laredo. it is immaculate! i found a few tears on that one. i see that you live in pa. that really scares me lol. i live in greensburg and travel up to the mountains alot. what part of pa do you live in?

  • sniff sniff i feel ur pain. have 96 could'nt live without her.has takin me to some amazing places.alberta canada

  • hey thanks a bunch man, take care of her and she will do the same for you :) and for the record i cried like a little girl losing her favorite teddy bear...i think i cried as much as when my dog died when i lost that XJ, i now have another one tho got a 95 XJ sport for real cheap....be careful out there! O|||||||O

"when i die bury me in my Jeep, cause its never been in a hole it couldnt get out of!"

    -unknown

  • was that steering wheel hard to install?

did you need a kit for it?

im looking at the same one for mine.. i dont like the stock wheel lol

    thanks

  • @jeepdrummer1 man some of these comments i didnt even get to respond to...2 years late im sure youve figured it out by now, however yes you do need a wheel puller kit. that was a Grant Challnenger GT and i fuckin LOVED that wheel. i think it runs around 80 bucks and takes around an hour to install. thanks for watch again sorry for the late (and i mean LATE!) reply

  • i feel your pain man, one of the nicest videos i have seen in a long time, those things ran forever, hope you get another one, love the song also

  • i have a 95 XJ now :-P its pretty damn cool to be honest, ended up with a sweet deal on it :-D thanks

  • bro id cry if that happend to mine..

just bought my first car.. a 94 jeep XJ. only thing that scares me... no airbags.. ahahaha i love my jeep though looks like urs except dark green with black rims/windows good luck with the project jeep my dude.

  • yeah my new jeep 95 XJ is reppin the tint and black rims :-P pretty sick shit man, this one HAS airbags....but im disabling it, caise if it goes off on a trail....hahah that will be gayyy

  • Man, I almost cried when i saw what happened to your '92 Laredo! I have the same exact thing!!!! Mine is the same year and the same color! the only difference is that I only have part time 4wd!

  • man i just got a 1990 jeep cherokee laredo its the most baddass thing ever i love it.

    sorry bout urs tho.

  • i love that song man

  • look at it this way, you now have a project to spend quality time with ur jeep or is it appropriate terminology to call it a heep now lol i had to saw that! just make it a trail rig! :)

  • i had already pondered that and ive already explored that option...the crank is broke and it pushed the motor back about 4" so without replacing all of that, its really pointless, just gonna take things out that are good and sell it as scrap and yes its a heep now :) but its still one of my favorite heeps 50mph head on sucks

  • i have1990 jeep cherokee laredo you can buy it for $1000

  • hey thanks man, fortunately my new one will be together in a few days and road worthy. Thanks again! :)

  • ouch!!

  • is she an xj

  • hope you find another jeep:)

  • my dad had a 1994 station wagon he drove it for 10 years when we gave it up it was like losing a family member

  • Comment removed

  • Damn dude, i owe my life to my old car, 90 Tbird 5.0 I swear if i had been driving something else i would be a goner, T-boned by a drunk driver doing 60mph. But im glad you walked away and Now i put my wife and my life in the hands of a 90 XJ!!

  • I respect your love for your Jeep.. ..my friend..

  • thanks... :)

  • what speed were you going at?

  • somewhere around 50mph

  • wow... I've always felt safe in my xj but it is tougher than i thought

  • were you wearing your seatbelt? you must be one big ball of meat to break the f-ing steering column!

  • i had my seatbelt on and i didnt break it...after disassembling the front end i found out that not only did the engine get pushed back a few inches, so did the steering shaft and power steering pump. which in turn pushed the seering wheel out of its normal position. my fault for assuming something like that. although i did hit the wheel pretty hard....my forehead was bleeding pretty good and i had one hell of a headache :) and im about 160lbs fyi so it was the steering column that came at me :)

  • IM glad to hear you are okay Its a blessing, and i will light a candle for your XJ.

  • omg that is sooo sad! sorry about your XJ...hope you can find a new one

  • damn that sucks, i wrecked mine on ice 2 days before xmas

  • Aw man that sucks. I'm sorry.

    Only in a Jeep.

  • mine bent in the same places

  • they're pretty tough overall, she had alot of body rot. but held up one last time to make sure that i walked out alive :) gotta love a jeep

  • My condolences... (Did I spell that correctly?)

  • i have no idea and thanks alot :)

  • :( :( :( This just breaks my heart... but just remember everytime yu see me all you need to say is the phrase "Whos a good boy?" and you will have your laughs lol

  • oh dude that sucks!!! it made me sad. glad your ok though

  • glad ur okay :)

ur jeep will always have a special place in your heart im sure :)
