Not always true, these gold series packs have cards that tend to be popular in competitive play normally, but that year the cards were mediocre. Plus, this kid really lucked out. For example, When I got my hands on a 2010 edition one, I ended up getting A ton of Six Samurai and a Gold Sarcophagus or something along those lines.
