aby advice on how to choose a budgie as a pet? I had a show budgie a few years ago and she was adorable....later had another one but he never learnt to like me much.... are there any tips for raising and training budgies?

Spend alot of time with him or her talk to them alot make funny sounds like my bird make a farting sound its awsome teach him things

you just have to treat it nice and play with him every day talk to him and such I had one before just like this too bad he was old :(

he was old not to learn new tricks. He actually flew away xD you cant really teach an old parakeet tricks

I'm guessing it's easier to teach younger birds? Or is it true that you can teach older birds?

It is a lot easier to train newer birds straight out of the pet shop. You shouldn't have any trouble from them but unless if its a year or so it will take time but it'll work. I just got two brand new parakeets yesterday and they were owned from another owner and they had them for a year. And were not treated well, it will take a while for me to train them happy and be able to be let out of their cage.
