just purchased my new samsung 3dtv with 3d I was just wondering if i can plug my PS3 into any hdmi port , my CABLE BOX and xbox 360 there are 4 hdmi port 2 of them (3 , AND 4) just say hdmi but the other 2 say PORT #2 (HDMI ARC) and PORT #1(HDMI DVI) does it matter which device is pluged in to these ones ?
@craigyt1 I think what ur referring to is white balance and no this is not for that. Only someone with the proper tools and software can adjust that and get an even "grayscale"
When I am done setting the proper Black level to only see the "THX" logo and not its drop shadow, it disturbs the setting of the White level and vise versa.
Is this normal? Or do I have to go back and forth between the two screens to tweak the Brightness and Contrast setting until I find a setting that conforms to the test patterns?
@MrGiovanni1234567 this is called thx calibration you can find it on any movie with the thx logo or video game its the same on both and helps you get the best picture quality just follow the steps
@thedoctor3166 i have a problem i have a 55 inch samsung LED and the guys from best buy came to calibrate the tv and it looks worst the letters are sort of blurry and i have a tube tv in my room and it looks better than the LED and they said that dish needs to give us HD channels so i need to know if they are write
@ELBOFO13 the resolution of your tube tv is around 480p i think, your samsung is 1080p so standard definition content will look bad on the samsung, try to watch something in hd on the samsung. My uncle had his calibrated by an isf calibrator it took 3 hours to do and it cost him $250 but the picture is great. Best buy from what i heard does basic calibration.
Isn't it really great fun how you have to spend time bloody calibrating your TV to get a good picture, when you've already spent several hundred? They should be pre-calibrated, and not as it is now on the eye-burning Dynamic setting. What a waste of my life.
I purchased a 32" Insignia HDTV from Best Buy and when i hook my xbox up it seems to have a half a second or a full second of lag or response time anyone have a solution? It is 120 HZ 1080P. Also i'm using the xbox HD cables not HDMI
@trexim20 Older Vizio Plasmas had the same problem. (If it is what I am thinking) It's called input lag, and I don't think there anything to do to fix it.
How about just watch regular hd tv. My parents have a 50in LCD HD Mitsubishi and when we're watching a hd movie on one of the movie channels, it doesn't seem that great like it would on a blu-ray. I've seen some movies on a blu-ray where the characters on the screen look almost real. Professional mainstream movies looking like home movies. How can I get that effect?
Yeah that's what I meant when I said 1080. Anyways, I ask and they did mention that they had professionals come in and calibrate their TV from the factory settings.
Some of the sets you may have seen that looks like home video is because of the refresh rate. LCD's and Plasmas run at a standard 60hz. The ones you may have seen are running at 120hz. This feature debuted last year with Samsung and Sony models. Nowadays, there are plenty of models that carry this feature like Toshiba, Sharp, Vizio, LG, and what not. Calibration is also a must.

@SaltNPeppuh Tvs need atleast a half hour to an hour to warm up to allow colors to settle as well as allow the set to reach a consistant power level.

Thanks! You really explained them well, without being a robot! (haha) Fun video, and very informative!
Thank you!

simply pickup the Avia test dvd for this. he doesn't do a good job explaining what you're actually doing or HOW you're effecting things.

bigger TV's are none to have bad quality.you should of got a smaller inch size.
pqboi 2 years ago
Nope that's not the answer. It running on 1080 so it supposed to be running on 1080. I'm seen 60in have the same effect that I want.

they probably payed big bucks for teh professionals to get that installed.Plus you forgot about 1080i and 1080p .

lol learn to spell honestly.

You would use none to say I have none or something like that.. it's pretty sad how uneducated some people are these days!

the blu ray does not make things look real its the tv that makes it look real. find 1080p with 120Hz or 240Hz. (Mitsubishi is a bad TV)
