Prop 8's about denying gays rights. They still have a tremendous amount of rights. Building off of this comment, homosexuals have recieved multiple negative connotations over the past few years; the number of connotations have built up to so great an amount that being called "gay" is a valid insult on the internet, in schools, and in other places.
Consider the term Marriage is a name to describe certain racial group or specific DNA sequence. Use the term domestic partnership for all types of couples and there should be equality and no separation and therefore not violating 14th amendment. No law should segregate any types of domestic partnership in terms of rights. Neither should change the meaning of marriage, just like you cannot be forced to change your DNA to someone else.
Marriage used to be arranged between two people who didnt know each other. Marriage used to be between two people that are only of the same race. Marriage used to be between a man and a woman, and another woman, and another woman. But I suppose the law mentions nothing about love either?
Then that means marriaged have been used incorrectly. The correct defition should be between heterosexual. Just like DNA of you is unique. Even if you have twins, both person's neuro network are routed differently. You cannot change it natually Period!

Rather than saying it over and over again and giving hypothetical data, why not state your reasoning for why it's unnatural and why it's incorrect. Because the Bible said so? Even the Bible is written by man, though supposedly "the word of God." Explain what your definition or what the general definition of "natural" and "correct" is. Love is natural, why isn't homosexual love?

By all the comments it seems that many are against kids being placed in homes of homosexuals. Is that the next right to be taken away from gays?
Gays have been able to legally adopt in CA since the 1980's and I haven't heard of any cases where that has turned out bad for the kids.
Prop 8 had nothing to do with marriage or children. Its major goal was to prevent further legitimizing homosexuality. Fundamentalists don't want people thinking they're normal, they want them in "ex-gay" camps.

Hate crime? When a gay person is murderred, it may be possible that the perpetrator doesn't know that the victim is gay. Still if the perpetrator does know, that may also be irrelevent to the motive. People are murderred, both str8 and gay. It's ILLEGAL. Hence, so what? As for stats, they make my point over why as a general rule a mom and a dad is best for society. Thanks for making my points. Besides per CA Family law 297.5 a gay couple can get the same benefits as a str8 couple w/o the official title of marriage. Gays don't need that title as 1/7 of gays oppose same-sex marriage. For the VAST majority of the people actually on the 'front lines' against gay people (spending vast amounts of money and time) this IS their mindset. They have already shown they are more willing to take a (biological) child away from a gay parent (and surely relatives, even VERY close ones) and give it to a straight Christian family. If such crimes are committed against such people, they are ILLEGAL and the perpetrators can be prosecuted. In 1959, if a Black person was murderred, raped, tortured, robbed, etc. the authorities would've done NOTHING. That doesn't apply to gays, et al today. Gays, et al are able to vote and sit on juries. That didn't apply to Blacks in 1959. And 2 people of different races, & opposite sexes can produce kids. 2 people of the same sex can't, so str8s deserve the priority for society and kids.

There is no right to marry. It's a privilege as consent is needed and requirements must be overcome. I can't marry someone of the same sex either or a sibling, or more than 1 person and that applies to gays, so there already is equality under the law. Besides the question is what is best for society and society needs kids and for them to be raised by moms and dads and gays cannot produce kids or raise them as mom and dad.

The bottom line is that 2 parents are much better than 1 parent and kid are much less likely to have problems with 2 parents and especially with a father in the home. Children need and are entitled to the relationship of a father figure and of a mother figure and gay couples cannot provide both. Only str8 couples can, so that is best for kids and society and partly why heterosexuality should remain the ideal for society and children.

Actually there is plenty of gay mating in the animal kingdom. Also some of it involves lifetime partners for animals. Also how would you know how "well" a gay couple can raise kids? I have straight, bi, and gay friends raised with two moms or twos dads, and my friends are more accepting of themselves then anyone I know, and they are productive people.
Also gays tend to adopt, something that helps children, kids that normally would just get pushed through a goverments system. That sucks btw.

clarify: Two gay parents are better than no parents for the kid. However the relationship of a real father for a kid is different from any relationship that a woman can provide and the relationship of a mother for a kid is different from any relationship that a man can provide. Besides, boys w/o fathers are + likely in jail, drop out of school or suicide and 4X+ more likely to have behavioral probs. Girls are more likely to have issues of being socially secure.

I also have my own personal experiences of girls or boys seeking me as a father role when doing volunteer work.

Prop 8's about denying gays rights. They still have a tremendous amount of rights. It's about protecting rights of those who don't want our children exposed to homosexual indoctrination in classrooms (it will happen), churches being sued because they "discriminate" against gays by not performing gay marriages or employers sued because they oppose homosexuality. Pro-gay rights groups have already proven their willingness to challenge any traditional views they oppose. Prop 8 passed deal with it.

Consider the term Marriage is a name to describe certain racial group or specific DNA sequence. Use the term domestic partnership for all types of couples and there should be equality and no separation and therefore not violating 14th amendment. No law should segregate any types of domestic partnership in terms of rights. Neither should change the meaning of marriage, just like you cannot be forced to change your DNA to someone else.
