This video is old, I know, but I also realized that Pokemon also uses the number 255 as the max amount of EV points for any of the six stats, where 510 was the max EV for all EV points added together. Sorry, this just sparked my curiosity. ^_^

I'd personally say that there are 255 missles due to hexidecimal - FF, the largest 2-digit number in hex is 255.

you have to have 255 missiles, 10 power bombs, 250 beam ammo, 14 energy tanks to get 100%. you are missing 1 missile expansion

...I have 250 missiles, 10 power bombs, 14 energy tanks and 250 beam ammo, and my game says I only have 99% items. I also have all the charge combos etc. anyone know whats wrong??

I would think it's because 255 is the maximum hex value for a pair of digits. 16x16 = 256, and if we consider there has to be one number for 0...

Though none of this really matters unless you want to go into romhacking.

Actually, I think its 255 missiles, because its 5 missles per expansion and that would make a total of 50 missile expansions. you get the missle launcher and thats 5 missiles. 50 expansions = 250 more missles. Yes, 255 is a weird number, but 50 is a good number.
