  • they did it again :)

  • how much will all this cost, lest just say for two for those parking. Im doing report on this and I cant find any information about it. thanks

  • The bike at the end gets caught by the door!!!!

  • @dogzer

Thats on purpose. The door holds the bike standing when the mechanism that pulled it out lets go of the bike. :/

  • What if someone decides to go in instead of the bicycle? Wouldn't that be fun?

  • How much will this bullshit cost?

  • They should also try this with vertical above ground silos, or built onto the side of a building like a turret.

  • it didnt want to let the one at the end go lol

  • If this thing broke it would suck you would have to wait all day for your bike.

  • Door fail at the very end

  • what if someone falls in there. or get stuck in there?

  • @ps3master33 its not an open area , so no one will probably fall there ,

  • @ps3master33 Then they should be riding a bike to begin with

  • you know whats funny who rides a bike now and days. I mean i still do. but really, There were like two bikes in the thing. Also i though japan/china were coming out with all of this new tech, like the little scooters and stuff. Just my two cents

  • 動き早くてびっくりした@@

  • 2 wheels are more of a problem when it comes to theft.

So what about moped & motorcycle parking as well?

  • @Guessagainkk the bicycles in japan is widely used , and this solution is only for them , motor bikes is not widely used there , so , they dont make a real problem , and for cars , they found a great idea for them , i might upload a video one day

  • @mr2000jp

The point is theft and rain, motorized or not it still 2 wheeler and it doesn't come with a roof. Most Japanese stuff don't do export, but reserve for their own needs, it a real shame.

  • lol its very cool now build the same thing for cars and parking problems r solved!

  • @fgzf i saw a video once for car parking like this , i was amazed , you might find it if you searched youtube

  • @fgzf theres ALOT of dirrent types of these for cars from carages, to carousel type, to just 4 5 car elavators on top in one space... just search automated parking

  • @fgzf No, take car parking away, so people in cars cannot find a park, then there will be fewer cars on the roads and more bikes, meaning less pollution, a better use of space, and less noise & congestion. To hell with cars.

  • @KrunchyJD um yeh but if they take away car parking then ppl will get pissed off and just leave their cars wherever... plus cars are a fast way to get around... no cars more time to travel = pissed ppl lol i think its better if they make cars that r more "green" rather then take them all away

  • @fgzf Cars are actually not fast as a way to get around, that is a myth. Sure, if a city is designed around cars, then cars are a fast way to get around, however, throughout history people have travelled for around 30 minutes to a from place to place, even when they walked. With cars we simply spread out the distance people have to travel. If cities and towns are designed with people in maind rather then cars, then if everyone chooses to travel by car, you just get gridlock. cont

  • @KrunchyJD People dont travel distance they travel time. In cities such as London the average speed of traffic in peak hour is not much above 5 km/ h, you can walk that fast. Trying to solve the problem of congestion with more roads or by spreading people out simply creates distance, so the amount of time it takes to get anywhere actually increases. Sure in a rural setting sometimes cars save time, but building a city for cars and having everyone drive simply devours time, it does not save it.

  • @KrunchyJD so what ur saing is... lets bring back the horses and shrink the cities to small villages?

  • @fgzf No, what I am saying is that where possible we need to build more density into cities and remove car access. We need to promote mixed development with buildings with shops on ground floor and apartments above. We need to design cities with walkable/ bikable distances in mind. Where longer trips are necessary we should focus more on efficient electric rail. What this means is that you could get nearly everywhere you wanted to go by walking, cycling or catching a train.

  • @KrunchyJD so giant skyscrapers? hmm but that would take alot of material to build them so they would be stable enough plus over time we always need more space so eventually well need to expand more and more. Electric rails r a good idea but that requires power too and right now we r at a stage where power is either rly dangerous (nuclear power) or really dirty (coal power) so i guess there r not alot of choices other then make something new

  • @fgzf No, not giant sky scrappers, medium density places between 2 stories and 8 stories, See cities in Europe. Electric rail is much more efficient then electric cars, or petrol cars, simply because more weight is used per person and more space is used per person in cars. In many American, and Australian cities around 50% of the space is dedicated either directly or indirectly to cars, in the form of wide roads often multi- lane, or car parking, then there is the pollution.

  • imagine this in ireland i would love it but i cant see it working here but hopefully if its everywhere then people will just live with it

  • did the gate at the end just clipped the bike wheel? 0_0

  • @bananian yes , to hold it from falling , till you grab it

  • go bike! say no to cars!

  • something about this is just all wrong. why waste all that energy when i can just lock my bike to a pole. they probably charge for this. my method is free. bike gets wet? wipe it off.

  • twat! these guys need the space. imagine 10 million bikes chained to poles all over the street. they are building the future: green, aesthetic, orderly cities built for people, not engines

  • there is ten's of millions of bikes in japan , your method might work in usa where almost every body has a car ,and bikes are very few

  • @lenarita1 if the bike is expensive, it'll get stolen.

  • Awesome! I hope they get these everywhere. Promote green transport!

  • amazing

  • I wish my city to drop that old vision of the future filled with roads for motorized vehicles. CITIES ARE MEANT TO BE FOR PEOPLE! NOT CARS! /sigh

  • do they buy you a new bike if your bike does not fit their unit and it munches it in the machinery?! I assume that this unit will not accommodate a recumbent style bike. They should have a circle slash sign over a recumbent bike silhouette.

  • What does it cost?

  • @byroncollis for the tokyo residents the coast is very little ,

  • The automatic bicycle parking facility featured in this video is not located in Kasai, Edogawa-ku. I know...I live there and I park my bicycle there! Check out the video response for the Kasai facility. This said, I'd be curious to know about this particular facility. In Kasai you have to go underground to pick up your bicycle, since the bus terminal is located over it-there are at times traffic jams on the ramps when going out. In this case you don't need to go underground, its outside.

  • thanks for the note

  • So very very very Japanese! :D

  • There's one in Jiyugaoka.

  • It's Kasai Station in Edogawa area of Tokyo.

  • Can you tell me where in Tokyo this is? Which station?
