The actors in the movie "At War With The Army" starred Dean Martin who played 1st Sgt. Vic Puccinelli and Jerry Lewis played Pfc. Alvin Korwin. Was out karaoke-ing last night and funny enough my hubby, decided he was going to sing this song :) such a classic song and it gets everyone singing which is the best part. So glad you enjoyed it !

@dec2034 The original was the 'coca cola' one, but Coca-Cola didn't want to be associated with the song, it being about trannies and all, so it was changed to 'cherry cola'... or so i've heard. It's a shame for them though, cos this song is down-right awesome!
@dec2034, the reason there are 2 versions of this song because originally the Kinks used the line "taste like Coca Cola", the Coca Cola company prohibited them from using the company name so they had to change that line to Cherry Cola.
