  • is it Steffi Graf ?

  • great job , i love your version, could you please post a tab or a sheet of this??

  • ma è maschio o femmina?

  • I've played Bass for 38 years. While this style of bass playing isn't my cup of tea you do it very well.

  • Hey, I really like this.

I too play a six, and I love using those exact chords that you're using. Good stuff! (You're a lot better at the in-between fills, though. That's a major weak spot of mine.) I also really like the descending chord melody you did at 0:42 - the E minor triad to D# augmented to that lovely D chord with the minor third and major sixth (this caught me off guard - I'm gonna have to steal that chord from you :P ) and then the C# dominant leading right back home. I'm inspired!

  • @lunchmeat317 Okay....I realized that it's an inversion of a B diminished triad. Definitely time to start messing around with specific triad voicing.

  • JC, I LOVE your version of this tune. Always have. We've both have great taste in influences/bass teachers. ;^)

  • I like it. Funny how similarly we have approached it :-)

  • I spent half the time trying to figuring out if u were a boy or girl

  • Geeze, I had a bit of a time doing this when I played guitar. Now I'm over to bass, and I would think it's a wee bit harder.

  • Very cool!!

  • nop

  • yes

  • Yes you can.. if you're good enough ^^

  • You could probably pull it off, but the chords might be tricky, or a little bit limited.

  • cool, lose the yngwie-face tho...

  • You are an excellent bass player. WOW!!!!!!!!!

  • Si te operas la narizucha vas a ser re buena bajista

  • jjjjjjjjeah!!!! its very very very cooool!!!!

  • very cool!

  • Where are you?

  • Northern Virginia

  • Nice in bossa!!!!

  • you and use similar voicing for half diminished chords!!!! nice playing!

  • love it

  • hate to but in ,,

if u listen to gloria gaynor i will sirvive its also based on autumn leaves,,,

  • I love your bossa feeling... hope you like my chord changes

  • nice

  • YOU SOUND GOOD MA!!

  • nice melody.:)

  • why dont you bar the notes with your index finger rather than contorting your hand so each finger can reach a fret?

    sorry if this sounds confusing

  • There's more than one way of skinnin' your rabbit DJL. Besides that fretboard is a mite wid, and I am fine sure I couldn't barre across it...

    Great finger style.

    No problem 5 stars.

    Regards

    John

  • Probably for two reasons... you get better tone with each finger on a note individually plus it allows you more control when you alter the chord (can move any voice in the chord easily by just moving one finger as opposed to now having to swing all of the fingers in to make a new chord)

  • thats exactly why i do it

  • wow i wasnt expecting a reply from the source itself.. couldnt asked for a better perso nto reply. first of all great palying irrelevant of sex. I own a musicman man stringray 5 but im looking for somethin a bit more relaxed and calm from the explosive sound of the msuciman in order to play more relaxing tunes like latino and smooth jazz. is that bass a neck through?

  • The Ibanez was a bolt on. That Ibanez in the video was heavily modded, so it was no longer a stock model. The basses I am playing now (Spector, Syme/LightWave, and a Rickenbacker) are all neck through. I have found both the Spector and the LightWave basses to be very flexible for what I do...you can do chords, jazz, latin, big band, rock. I've been very happy with both basses.

  • great, 10x for ur help.. keep doin wat u do best, do u have a myspace?

  • very well done, wat bass u got?

  • Thanks for checking out my video. That video was done with an Ibanez SR series bass. I sold that bass last fall and purchased a Spector Euro LX6. I also play a Syme/LightWave fretless 5 string and NS Designs CR-5 electric upright.

  • woman ??

  • well, you've got to be the only women playing a sixster on YT, good work, way to stand ut in a crowd

  • well played!

  • love your talent. god bless you.

  • Very nice indeed, nice harmonisation of this great theme. If you like Jazz (and fingerpicking) check out my channel, you're very welcome, greets Victor.
