Ever try to figure out shower controls in a hotel? We need superior designers such as Karim Rashid and Dieter Rams to inform design of our products and we must no longer accept those that are not intuitive.
We must stop buying things on price alone, because it invites inferior designs, wasted resources, & polution during manufacture & disposal. So, buy what will serve well & last, otherwise borrow, rent, or do without. Continual replacement for bells & whistles is obscene.
yeah i actually agree cameras should be shaped like guns. Point and shoot. Rectangular cameras are not naturally at all to use, twisting of your wrists is quite uncomfortable. That said, in regards to why chairs are uncomfortable. The reason is because one of his comfy designer chairs are too expensive for the average human, business or government to buy. Try lowering the price idiot.
Specifically how they are only designed to last 8 years and then be trashed,
and that they can be needlessly super difficult to work on, even for consumables which the designers should know will need to be accessed (filters, clutches etc).
I LOVE his glasses ! Some people find security in the rut...some people feel suffocated. Some people merely ask "Why?" in the hope of igniting a spark of creative thought and, maybe, creative action.
The man in the pink glasses comes off very arrogant and ignorant.
Chairs don't have to be stylish to be comfortable to sit in.
Also, with today's technology, he should consider getting braces. Whenever he opens his mouth, I find myself looking at his teeth out of morbid curiosity.
yes please stop the health care debate and renewable energy and electric car
We need to improve the DESIGN of the chair!!
The ipod is based on the mp3 player based on the CD player based on the walk man based on the 8 track based on radio based on the phonograph, so who cares if the chair has four legs and a straight back? In fact their are chairs that give messages WTF is he on about?
@MrLesWhite His argument is that with all the many designs people have come up with for chairs over the years, the vast majority of them are still uncomfortable if you sit in them for more than few minutes. He's saying that we clearly have the knowledge and capability to make far more comfortable chairs than we do, but choose not to for whatever reason. It's just the status quo, not nessicarily price too, it's just kind of accepted and ignored. That's his point.

I don't agree with his opinion that digital cameras' rectangular format is outdated because they don't need to take the film's shape in consideration.
Still there are ergonomic factors, and also the rectangular screen has to be taken in consideration.

I'd love to see a show on modern cars.
Specifically how they are only designed to last 8 years and then be trashed,

Cheers

When a design works, why change it?
What is this fella's point, or does he have one?
