to an email address? do we need to set up an email address for the wii if we want to know our GTS trades from there? because i've tried following the instructions in the booklet for my HeartGold and it doesn't work. wfc-mail@nintendo.com, confirm wii code twice, but i don't get a confirmation mail? :S

FYI: The U.S. only accepts Wii numbers, the JPN version does email. But I barely look at my email anyways, flashing blue light is more noticeable.

Your Wii number should be on the top page of your registered friends list on the Wii message board.

If you have the english version you can only use a wii to receive the emails only japanese version you can use normal email

they changed it for security/privacy reasons

You need to first put Nintendo's address in your Wii's address book. You have to turn your Wii on and go to your Address Book and select "Other" and then enter this email address:

w f c - m a i l @ n i n t e n d o . c o m

Then after you do that try to get the registartion code. You should get it within five or ten minutes.

Yes, since the American version of Pokemon Platinum only allows for Wii Messages for trade notification you need a Wii.

The Japanese version allows you to register your email instead for trade notifications.

Just follow what I mentioned above and it should work.
