It's official term in Canada is "Back Bacon", where unlike the bacon from the states, Canadian bacon is strictly ham taken from the back of the pig, providing a much leaner meat with little or no fat. Let me know if this helps sort things out!

canadian bacon is pemeal bacon it has little yellow crumby things on the edges... ham is just ham :p i only know this because i worked in a meat store :P
