  • Hey nonny no nonny ninny oh! ..-I'll do it next time..... -yeah OK..... -A good time for to fiiiind.

  • There's an Iron law: Nonny before ninny.

How can Alan not know that?

  • I always laugh when he pulls out the flute.

  • Have some more burgers.

  • They do the music so well, they are spot on with every detail.

Comedy legends, may they do many more films together.

  • It sounds a bit like Matty Groves

  • These three are the same musicians in Spinal Tap

  • Exactly. Especially, when Spinal Tap did tours, the Folksmen opened for them! Cool, huh?

  • "Oh, That's pretty!"

  • Are these guys anything to do with Spinal Tap ( the semi fictional rock band) ?

  • They have everything to do with Spinal Tap.

Christopher Guest created both films. A lot of the same cast is in both.

  • Thanks, I've since watched waiting for guffman & looked at other material. Quite simply a comic genius, very creative.

  • Yes they do. Only problem is, Guest didn't direct Spinal Tap. Rob Reiner took the helm of that one. And then Guest became a directorial superstar.

And by the way, did you see the DirecTV commercials he directed?

  • @Honestjosh44 These guys ARE Spinal Tap. Exact same actors - that's what's so awesome.

  • Okay, I know all the different Simpsons characters the bassist voices, but as EchoCannon89 pointed out on another video, his speaking voice sounds alot like Skinner, and as I'm pointing out right here, his singing voice sounded like Burns at first, but I realized it sounds more like early Leonard Cohen... but maybe that's just me...

  • i cant find a tab for this anywhere. someone please make one. i cant figure out one chord in the song.

  • Let me guess; is it chord in the progression from D up to Em as they change key? If it is I have no idea and its driving me mad too. If not could you tell me what that one is? I think it might be an E flat type (similar to the one in "Wanderin" that is on the "son" i.e my daddy was the son..... etc. In fact Corn Wine and Wanderin' are very similar (identical after the key change D, Em, D, G)

  • it's a B7

  • @aotearoavillan The modulation is Dm, to B7 over a D# in the bass, to Em.

  • Iron law Alan, nanny before ninny......

  • What? You thought folk music was all tiptoe through the tulips down Easy Street? It's like shipbuilding I tell you! Sleek and graceful on the outside; blood, guts, sweat and tears spitting tar and nails on the outside.

  • You can actually buy a studio recording of "Corn Wine" on iTunes. It's on Harry Shearer's album. :)

  • Yeah, I always wondered why "Corn Wine" had so many more verses in the 'A Mighty Wind' songbook...

I think the book also has different lyrics for "The Good Book Song" as well.

  • There's no "nanny"

just take that out of the equation.

  • Would someone PLEASE post the song that The Folksmen performed on MadTV? Even better than what they used in the movie...

  • Has anyone seen a clip of the other song that was on the dvd but not in the film? The 'Do what the good book tells you to' one? Can't find it anywhere :(

  • Or how about "Killington Hill?" That was my favorite! So morbid yet so funny! A take off of all the gross folk songs of the '60s.

  • A great song. Wish it was on the soundtrack!

  • Iron rule here...Nonny before Ninny.

  • transcription error there..

  • Consider the corn...

  • Consider the wine...

  • Gold!

  • such a good song
