This game is by far the best game ever, it IS outrageously addicting, and IS fantastic, every time I come home I want to play it, the idea, the thought of playing this game is constantly in my head. I LOVE it! Whoever created this game was absolutely a freaking genius. :)
hey guys you should all visit at -----> c h e a t a narchy . c()m <----- this is the site where you can get the working tools and guide for this game! THUMBS IF YOU RECOMMEND THIS
Well I "won" this game almost a month ago, and it was nothing less than amazing. The entire time I was playing it, there was not one moment where I wasn't one hundred percent convinced that it was 2027 and that the technology wasn't possible. It was fun, not too gory (there is a gory scene or two, but very tasteful) and all around fun.
@FortitudeOfHeaven It's in the game. During the riots, go to the police blockade near the Metro Station and look through the slits of the Artificial wall.
Because graphics are there for a reason too. They shouldn't be the only content a "game" has to offer, but they can help in creating a good atmosphere and a recognizeable design like the black and gold colours mainly used in DX:HR. Of course you could try to do this game in old-fashioned 2D-graphics, but it wouldn't be the same, maybe not nearly as intriguing as it is now.
Barely following some discussions here about the AI: Somehow it annoyed me how easily you could approach enemies or screw up their patrol routes by simply staying behind boxes or other objects and pushing them around (without lifting them, because that would always alert your enemies as far as I remember). I don't know if any other stealth game has made this better so far, but there is surely more we can hope for in future games of this kind, HR really had rather simple mechanics.
@ravenloftable: um, there are two explorable cities (Detroit and Hengsha). And short? Just start over and play it differently. If you haven't done so already, try getting the "Pacifist" achievement (no kills). If you have that, try getting "Pacifist" and "Foxiest of the Hounds" in a single run (no kills & no alarms). If you did that too, try completing it without killing or incapacitating anyone or destroying robots, and no setting of alarms (kinda like "super pacifist").
I just finished the game, superb game.. Whats wrong with the game is there being only 1 city to explore, exploration is one of the main reasons we all play games, otherwise we would be playing dice. Secondly, the game is short, it only took me a week.
Heres my review as a Deus Ex fan: Pros: 1)Good storyline. 2)Gameplay. 3)Freedom. Cons: 1)Boss battles. 2)Health regeneration. 3)Voice acting (it could have been better and Jensen's voice just plain sucks, he sounds like the new Batman). 4)No melee weapons. 5)Unable to pick any objects and use it as distraction (only barrels and boxes). 6)No lockpicking. 7)No 'what a shame' reference.
@CMASC1989 Guess you forgot with the strength aug you can use turrets as weapons, throw vending machines, refrigrators, copy machines, dumpsters, and use them as walking cover and use them as weapons. No melee weapons seriously? Your fucking arms are devices of death with wrist and elbow blades guess you don't know how to use them in the game. No lockpicking? Its the fucking future you hack door terminals because the doors are digitally locked. Or you blast them opened with a shotgun etc.
@BrooklynXT1 Takedowns are not exactly a melee weapon you can equip it's part of the augmentation besides they require a fully charged battery to be used, as for the strength aug, yeah you can pick up heavy things, but you can't pick everything else like in deus ex, about every single item in deus ex can be used as distraction, lockpicking mate, we're not in the Fuuuuture future, if the fist Deus Ex had primitive doors in it and it takes place years after Human Revolution...
@CMASC1989 I don't know why people keep saying you could interact with everything in the Deus Ex because it's simply not true. Furthermore if I had to choose between that and Human Revolution which has similar amounts of intractable stuff but far far more detailing in the background that's simply not interactive I'm going with the later. The the levels were so sparsely populated by characters and objects was one of the original's greatest flaws.
I mean it's not to say that the original isn't great, it is. It's been 2 months now since I've first played it and my god it was one hell of an experience. Just one of the best.
But im just saying the originals flaws are covered up by nostalgia.
@biciunas That's why it was one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had, seriously i was just blown away, I was so absorbed, so immeresed into the game.
Tbf though the AI in Human revolution is really bad, although the art direction is fantastic.
Congratulations to DXHR team at Eidos Montreal for delivering an epic prequel to an epic game. The bar was set so high by the original, but you still managed to reach it, and in some cases even go further. In today's gaming industry, this is a vanishingly rare case, and you should all be proud of yourselves. I'll be very much looking forward to seeing more from you in the future!
1) game play is smooth and health regenerates, no more hunting for health packs!
2) Its a new story.
Cons:
1) Graphics are PS2 level AT BEST
2) I thought we got away from boss battles somewhere in 06?
3) Gamers like options, why am I FORCED to only use weapons you scatter ammo for?
4) wtf is up with the AI? Did you sleep through all the splinter cells? If you're making a stealth game at least take notes from the largest franchise in the industry...
@NINJAROOable A Deus Ex fan wouldn't care about Graphics, AI is better then the crap you see in CoD. Depending on weapons in a Deus Ex game? Killing ANYONE(except bosses) in a Deus Ex game? YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!!!!!
@skytop082 The only reason I bought this game was because I'm a fan of the series\trilogy, but this game ruined it for me. For fuck sakes, its dark as hell and no night vision in 2029? :O wtf.... They overlooked some serious shit they made this game.
4) The AI is excellent and re-acts realisticly and effecintly...wtf are you talking about?
Yes they're so excellent that instead of flanking, looking for you beside\behind a box they rush you one at a time or sometimes in groups of 2 firing full auto. Yes because rushing in and firing all over the damned place is a great tactic.
I loved the story of the other 2 games, this one has many drawbacks, so many IMHO it takes away from the gameplay. @skytop082 - I have it CRANKED UP.
@NINJAROOable what's simplistic about a group of four enemies, 2 of them holding supressing fire on your last known position while the other two try to find a way to shoot you from the side (which happened to me fairly often)? that's a normal military technique to keep your enemy down and take him out with a minimum of acsualties... and other than that - I totally agree with skytop082
@NINJAROOable You are ONE GUY, Of course they rush you, they think they have the upper hand because they have a squad of people. In Deus Ex 1, the soldiers rushed you ALL the time. As for having no night vision, If you played Deus Ex 1, Night vision was completely useless. As for ammo, this isn't Call of Duty, Enemies don't leave guns and ammo laying around like X-mas presents. If you played the first, there wasn't much ammo either. If you want stockpiles of ammo so much, download a damn trainer
Your cons 1 & 3 are just dumb. You're not forced into anything except the bosses in this game, and PS2 level graphics is just a lie. The graphics aren't a technical marvel, I agree, but they're fine and function they're job in letting me enjoy the art design. It's only the faces of side characters that I'd say are below average, but PS2? No.
@NINJAROOable Your review is absolutely stupid, safe for Pros 2, and cons 2.
And as a Deus Ex "fan" you talk about graphics? are you mental? no Deus Ex fan gives a crap about graphics, besides, graphics are great and i love the art concept they went for.
Why am i FORCED to only use weapons you scatter ammo for? eh... like in the first game? you imbecile,
wtf is up with the AI? did you ever played this game at the hardest difficulty? AI is good at today standard.
I just recently played human revolution and beat it. I think that invisible had a better story line than human revolution, however i love the new features of human revolution. I personally think that the next one, if they make one, should be strictly after the illuminati not the subordinates. And some extra terrestrial events in a realistic would be cool, not too sci fi though. It kinda sux cuz more memory needs to be on discs which would bring a more well detailed deus ex
@Dudi979797 really depends on how much time you're willing to invest into completing sidequests and generally exploring. My first playthtough was about 23 hours, and I tried to do most of the content I could find (but still missed a decent ammount of it)
AWEEEESOME, 10/10. They did it, its Deus Ex/Cyberpunk to fuckin limit. If you got extra cash, get this. Epic, gonna be one of best ever. Facken hate lack of cheats though, wtf eidos?? Forcing me to rape my brains over cheat engine *angry troll*
Yeah, play original DE too with mods, like upgraded graphics and more content, use cheats to get all augs at start and rock thru.
@MetzgerKB I tried, and could not really do it, because it felt toooo old. 10 years ago, I would have appreciated such graphics and portrayal. But after being 'spoiled' by Human Revolution, I couldn't stand the original's gameplay.
Also, JC DENTON looks way too much like a DOUCHEBAG while ADAM JENSEN IS A GENUINE BADASS
@AniBangWolf I have it on the PS3 and I also played it on PC. The developers actually gave a crap about the gamers that will buy this, so I loved both versions, so much that I can't really pick a favorite. I never had control issues on either one.
It was recorded originally for the film 'Distant Drums' in 1951. Warner Bros. then re-used it for many of their films and eventually other studios started using it in their films, the first being 'Star Wars.' It's become a running joke in the entertainment business.
I agree. Hopefully people look at this (as they should have for the original) as an example for how games should be. Yes, developers of the world, your consumers DO have brains. Treat us like it. Eidos Montreal is 10 steps ahead of you at the moment.
I loved this game so much I wish I could meet the developers just to shake their hands and thank them.
@THAxxXJDAXxx ...Uh.. Steam overlay? Xfire? Ventrilo? Teamspeak?...any other kind of 3rd party software? I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. Just as social, at the very least.
@soapmt123 hope you're talking about the video and not a fucking spoiler. If so be more considerate. I'd figured there'd be endings like that but still. wtf.
Be careful Adam.. because everybody lies. House will be proud

Who else is going to play the original after beating Human Revolution? :)
MetzgerKB 6 months ago 102
@MetzgerKB I would love 2 but I can't on windows 7 -.-'

@MetzgerKB Fuck! There was one before?!?!?!?!? -_-
TheJaydamasta 6 months ago
@MetzgerKB I tried, and could not really do it, because it felt toooo old. 10 years ago, I would have appreciated such graphics and portrayal. But after being 'spoiled' by Human Revolution, I couldn't stand the original's gameplay.
Also, JC DENTON looks way too much like a DOUCHEBAG while ADAM JENSEN IS A GENUINE BADASS

@Kalnaf What a shame.. xD

snowman2009 6 months ago
@AniBangWolf I have it on the PS3 and I also played it on PC. The developers actually gave a crap about the gamers that will buy this, so I loved both versions, so much that I can't really pick a favorite. I never had control issues on either one.

@Mattsgamemovies
It was recorded originally for the film 'Distant Drums' in 1951. Warner Bros. then re-used it for many of their films and eventually other studios started using it in their films, the first being 'Star Wars.' It's become a running joke in the entertainment business.

the story was great, and compelling, but gameplay wise it felt off im not sure what it was maybe i just didnt understand how to do everything
knightofbruma 6 months ago
Just finished this. Absolutely phenomenal game. If you love games, you owe it to yourself and the industry to support it.
dajman15 6 months ago
I love this game, even the original showed gaming things that most modern games still fail to realise :D
AcidFlashback321 6 months ago
@AcidFlashback321
I agree. Hopefully people look at this (as they should have for the original) as an example for how games should be. Yes, developers of the world, your consumers DO have brains. Treat us like it. Eidos Montreal is 10 steps ahead of you at the moment.
I loved this game so much I wish I could meet the developers just to shake their hands and thank them.

ktzeroii 6 months ago
@THAxxXJDAXxx that doesn't make any sense at all.
sebaswildboy 6 months ago
@sebaswildboy How doesn't it? On consoles party chat and private chat (at least on 360) are very reliable and easy to switch between

@THAxxXJDAXxx Deus Ex Human Revolution is a Steamworks game, there's your social capabilities on the pc.
