The song Fortunate Son was a protest song, but it was not about the actions occurring in Vietnam, it was in regards to the young men who used their families connections in politics to get out of serving. The Vietnam War became synonomous with class and race issues. The middle class and lower class citizens in the U.S. could not get out of the draft, and therefore, created the bulk of the anti-war protesters. CCR understood this fact, and wanted to bring it to the attention of the public.
And, people who volunteer for the military are no evil, or baby killers or murderers. They don't make the decisions in war, POLITICIANS DO!!!! I know plenty of veterans who volunteered for service, and were drafted. Both groups have the same outlook on the war. 2)The Rheinwiesenlager (Rhine meadow camps) were transit camps for millions of German POWs after World War II; there were at least thousands and potentially tens of thousands of deaths from starvation and exposure. Estimates range from just over 3,000 to as many as 71,000.
3)Following the capture of Biscari Airfield in Sicily on July 14, 1943, seventy-six German and Italian POWs were shot by American troops of the 180th Regimental Combat Team, 45th Division during the Allied invasion of Sicily. These killings occurred in two separate incidents between July and August 1943.
B) Vietnam War / In March, 1968, a US army platoon led by Lt. William Calley killed (and in some cases beat, raped, tortured, or maimed) 347 to 504 unarmed civilians primarily women, children, and old men in the hamlets of My Lai and My Khe of Sơn Mỹ. 26 US soldiers, including 14 officers, were charged with crimes related to the My Lai massacre and its coverup. And, the northern states did not destroy your economy in 1864. One, the southern economy was already in disarray, the price of cotton had fallen drastically. Two, and confederate money that was left had no value anyway because the confederate president ran off with the money. If the southern states could have accepted the fact that Reconstruction was the intellegent choice that was made to bring back their failed economy they wouldn't have been in such a horrible situation.

Vietcong has a nice gameplay, but can be modernized. Vietcong 2 was a disaster. Shellshock Nam '67 was not bad. Men of Valor was not bad. But now we need a state of the art Viet nam FPS. We have enough ww2 and modern warfare games.
It's still very playable. I once managed to earn two Crossmedals with quickfight in the ruins, but that was hard. It's the "Vietnam" level. Once or twice hit, and you're already half way through your health.

The government does not decide what is taught in the states (STATES RIGHTS HOLY SHIT) so if your education is lacking take it up with your state. The song Fortunate Son was a protest song, but it was not about the actions occurring in Vietnam, it was in regards to the young men who used their families connections in politics to get out of serving. The Vietnam War became synonomous with class and race issues. The middle class and lower class citizens in the U.S. could not get out of the draft, and therefore, created the bulk of the anti-war protesters. CCR understood this fact, and wanted to bring it to the attention of the public.

So in my oppinion, every soldier has to make a decision on every single day in war. AND that is to question orders whether they are right or wrong! It has nothing to do with politicians!

And, the northern states did not destroy your economy in 1864. One, the southern economy was already in disarray, the price of cotton had fallen drastically. Two, and confederate money that was left had no value anyway because the confederate president ran off with the money. If the southern states could have accepted the fact that Reconstruction was the intellegent choice that was made to bring back their failed economy they wouldn't have been in such a horrible situation.

There is no brainwashing going on by the military, and we aren't a YANKEE NATION. Korea and Vietnam were police actions by the U.N., however, and this is a big fucking however, THEY ARE WARS. and they are classified as such because of the nature of the conflict. If it were a police action it would be more like Kosovo in the 1990s.

I´m not from America but it has been the time the Nam War united a lot of students all over the world - but if there is one thing for sure nobody could blame the soldiers doing there job in this war. As far as I´m informed it´s still the war with more soldiers under the age of 20 than any other war before. What the world -not only America- did: they accepted that a whole Generation was lost.
My youngest son is 19 - he would do his duty, but what would remain from him?

Eh, Finland got some help from Germany yea. But after all we won the war ourselves, even though Nazis helped us.
It's soooo different than Vietnam war, because in Vietnam there was a civil war, in here it wasn't, because an wholeee another country invaded us, and the Germany was already in war with them.
And it was World War 2, it was long time ago... I respect what the US did in WW2 totally, except the nukes.

Vietcong has a nice gameplay, but can be modernized. Vietcong 2 was a disaster. Shellshock Nam '67 was not bad. Men of Valor was not bad. But now we need a state of the art Viet nam FPS. We have enough ww2 and modern warfare games.

It's still very playable. I once managed to earn two Crossmedals with quickfight in the ruins, but that was hard. It's the "Vietnam" level. Once or twice hit, and you're already half way through your health.
