I think I would of rather seen Tiffany Amber-Thiessen in that role. No offence to Elizabeth.
Back when it came out i was 13 and I thought to myself "Why Elizabeth Berkley? WHY?" Of course I didn't realize what a load of Shit this would turn out to be. I seen it once and sort of zoned out, then all of a sudden this scene came up where there was nothing but nudity, It turned into a porn just about. NC-17 indeed.
AND,if you're going to make a "young girl comes to {location associated with showbiz},works hard,becomes famous but loses her pride/dignity/soul" story,you make her young,likable,maybe slightly naive---you DON'T make her some foul-mouthed promiscuous whore with too much makeup and no sense of sexual restraint!!
What kind of pinhead spends several million dollars to make a SEX film--which,let's face it,ALL "Showgirls" was!!They probably could've made 40 porno films for what this turkey cost!!I mean,the millions James Cameron spent to make "Titanic"--you think he gave it all to Kate Winslet to do her nude scene?!
(I also found out that people are going to make a sequal to dragon ball evolution, which i think me and some of my friends will kill ourselves around the time it comes out)
I heard a lot about Showgirls, and finally watched it a year or two ago. I thought it was comically bad, but not SO comically bad that it was classic. Most of the movie was just kinda... there, and yes, a lot of it felt forced and fake, like it was trying SO hard to be provocative, but no. So yeah, not the worst movie ever, but not good. Some funny lines/scenes, but not enough to make it a "So Bad It's Good" kinda movie.
My favorite line: "Man, everybody got AIDS 'n' shit!"
Speed 2 is even worse than Showgirls. At least Showgirls gave us what it promised. It's called Showgirls, and it has showgirls in it. Speed 2 is called Speed, and it's on... a friggin' cruise ship? Seriously?
When you think about it, the film was like a long porno.
