Catholicism is the Mass and the Sacraments. The Mass was destroyed in 1962 and the required Sacramental Form was destroyed in 1944. Sorry, it's over. The Church is in a state of auto-demolition as Paul VI stated in 1968. Of course it looks legitimate, but that's how Lucifer wants it. If you want the ability to stand when the punishment comes, know enough about your religion to know the names of the Trinity.

Why are you using leaven When we are told that it was Pesach and thus it would be unleavened bread?! Refer to Matthew 26, 1 Corinthians 5:6-8! Leaven means sin (The leaven of the Pharisees that Messiah warned us about in Mathews Gospel chapter 16).
@orrycat Don't feed my that bullshit! Yeshua used Matzah, it was Passover, according to 1 Cor. 5:6-8 we are to be unleavened. also Yeshua (Jesus), told us to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees! Leaven equates to wickedness, you're telling me the Kingdom is Wicked?!
@orrycat Leaven was only ever called wicked by Yeshua! "Watch out! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod." (Mark 8:15). the Parable you were referring to is in no relation to the L-RD's Table!

This is truely disturbing. We are truely at the end times when a priest allows footage of the Holy Mystery to be recorded and subsequently posted on the internet. Shame, shame, shame! May God have mercy on his soul. I assume that this priest doesn't consider the Holy Doors necessary. Why even have them? He should just take them off...then he will feel more comfortable with the papists. And to add, he should just stand on the other side of the table. Voila! Instant papist.
I really don't think your comment is worth responding. There were no bad intentions recording the most holiest part of the Liturgy whatsoever. In the early Church there were no any doors that separated altar from the people. During the Bright week ALL doors of the altar are opened. Regarding posting it on internet, there are many different ways of conveying God's message, and internet is one of them. All in all, your comment reminds me of 21st century iconoclast.
I agree with you. I am a Byzantine Catholic. Our liturgy is very similar, except that we are in communion with the Pope of Rome. The more that people can know about the Byzantine Christians, the better.
@mindspring57 : I am a Roman Catholic and i know that Byzantine Catholics are truly and fully christian. Brother, our faith is one and the same. The Byzantine liturgy is very beautiful and very spiritual. So when someone tries to bring your liturgy down, don't worry we Roman/Latin rites got your back. God bless
@mandaloreJCL I appreciate the support. You would be surprised how many Roman Catholics I meet (including priests) who do not know we exist. I am Ukrainian Catholic, and the discussion goes like this: (a) Yes, we are Catholic; (b) No, we are not Roman Catholic; (c) No, we are not Orthodox, and (d) %$#$% no, Ukrainians are NOT Russians.
@mandaloreJCL As you may know, our liturgy (the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom) dates from about 350 A.D., while the Tridentine Latin Mass was not promulgated until 1570. No "modern" innovcations for us, thank you! Take care.
@mindspring57 : it's not the mass of the east or the mass of the west. it's not the mass of 350 or of 1570. It's the mass of Christ. The Eucharist is the source, center, and summit of our worship that is important. I'm not excusing irreverency in the Mass, but the Tridentine mass is reverent. Even Novus Ordo, The mass that is mostly used by Roman Catholics today is reverent, when done correctly. unfortunately the langauge used at Vatican II accidentally gave some clergy the wrong idea and
@mindspring57 :part2: they kinda experimented and went away from the strict guidelines of novus ordo. But our Holy father is working hard to bring everyone back up to speed on where they need to be. Your last line is kinda challengingto me tho...if you wanna play that way fine. Your mass isn't the original either. It was made in 350. The original mass is the celebration of the Eucharist in private residencies and going to temple to hear the readings. As you can see, we don't do that anymore.
@mandaloreJCL : part3:Now having said that. I'm not saying we should keep creating new liturgies. My point is that Novus ordo and the Tridentine are just as valid as the eastern liturgies. You're free to prefer one liturgy over another, I personally prefer the Tridentine, but please don't take a disrespectful tone about western liturgies. All of them (when done correctly) are beautiful and are equal in glorifying God. Some just meet different spiritual needs
@mindspring57 : Ignore him. I am a Roman Catholic and I know for a fact that the Byzantine Catholics are truly and fully Christian. The Byzantine Liturgy is very beautiful and spiritual. When someone tries to bring your liturgy down, remember that we Roman/Latin rites got your back brother! God Bless.
sumadinac45...it should surprise you then to know that there are pictures dating back to the 1800s (from the invention of the camera) of the Divine Liturgy. How could something so incredibly beautiful, and unfortunately hidden from the world, being presented to all be disturbing or sinful? You obviously do not know your history either.
In the early church only believers were present in the Mystery of Eucharist that s why they didnt need to separate lay from clergy. Nowadays even non-believers are allowed in church. That s why we need to safeguard the holiness of the Mystery with iconostasis.

Your response was quick for someone who doesn't want to respond. Your intentions are based on ignorance. The Iconastasy was built in order to protect the Holy of Holies from the dis-believers. The Doors on Bright week are open for the FAITHFUL. There should be no non-Orthodox present at that time. And I don't think you know the meaning of iconoclast. There is a reason the Holy Doors were established and you have just violated it. May God have mercy on your soul.
well if you know anything about the Roman Rite you would know that ad orientem has never been abolished but that it isn't practiced by majority of the clergy...
I know it says in the bible somewhere in the writings of Paul that if a person, I'm assuming a priest as well, does something that's against the church or the bible that you first go to that person and confront them one on one. Then if they don't listen you take two people and if still they don't listen you take it in front of the church. I'm assuming that this goes for the Orthodox Church as well I could be wrong. But this is coming from a Protestant not someone who's Orthodox so I'm not sure.
I understand that usage of English in orthodox liturgy is "illegal". But if it is true, then why not change the law? What makes one language recognized, and the other not? I think English is *popular enough* to recognize it in liturgy.
So, why Russian, but not English?
Decide, if you want to have one language (be it Greek, Church Slavonic, Russian...) like roman catholic church did until somewhere in 1960's, or essentially any language, like RCC does today...
see thats the diff between orthodox and roman catholic... we are not 'evangelical', that means we dont need to go out there and try to convert people, anyone can join our church, but of thier own free will... we never needed to make ONE language the main one...
in any case.. reason its not recognized is because a majority of an otrhodox nation/people need to be english speakers.. and since most orthodox people are not english speakers it would be pointless
it about tradition and its about not changing and not being affected by change... pravoslavlje (orthodoxy) means the true-way or right-way [to worship]... that means not changing the way of the Holy Fathers like the catholic church did..
thats why throughout history they got a reputation of being corrupt, blood thirsty, inhumane, intolerant, and it is the reason that now they have a milion sects splitting off...
Yes, virtually any change in the catholic church creates a group that disagrees and splits-off the church saying 'They are all wrong and we are the real catholic church'. This is why we have now groups like sedevacantists (saying that all popes after their chosen favourite one have been false ones) or SSPX (of dubious status, officially thrown out by the church but still pretending to be part of it). The more disagreement in the church, the worse it gets.
I go to an Eastern Orthodox church calles "St.Herman of Alaska" They have a service in English and they are one of the best Orthodox churches I've seen, with great people, and a really great Lituragy. God bless all Orthodox churches, regardless of the language!!!
I understand your point and in a way agree with you. But there is one thing which bothers me: I think that no layman has the right to tell a priest how to celebrate the liturgy. That's simply disrespectful! If something bothers you, go to the priest and talk about it. If this doesn't help, go to other priests or even the bishop. It's nothing that has to be put into public or the internet. Also "the old patriarch is to weak" is very disrespectful towards the patriarch...
well i dont think you noticed.. but im in canada bud.. and if something is wrong, i will be disrespectful because this same priest was disrespectful to the church by posting ON THE INTERNET the holy rituals at the altar..
second.. patriarch IS weak, hes 90-something, hes sick, and another man is fulfilling his duties as the patriarch
No, I perfectly noticed. First, two wrongs don't make a right. Just because some things are wrong in and with this video (wherin I agree with you) does not justify any of your disrespectful comments. Also, this mass isn't "invalid" just because of the language, as long as the priest's intention was sincere. Second, it doesn't matter who is working on behalf of the patriarch. He is still the patriarch, no matter how old, ill or whatever he is. Your disrespect reveals your true intentions.
I would look at the catholic Church before condemning an aged Bishop. A bishop is consecrated by GOD and functions on greater level of efficiency than temporal labours. We (Catholics) have our bishops being replaced at 70 to "make room" for more "modern" ones :(
although i respect your devotion to our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament , where else but on the internet could HE be seen by all nations? The Liturgy is beautiful, if anything this is what Internet/youtube needs. JESUS CHRIST! :)
is it a part of Russian Orthodox Church?
