  • No surprise he finds that many connections, just look were he lives, people above, below, side to side, ofcourse he'll find so many.

  • good now where is the pasword

  • thumbs up for the pony tail

  • DAMN men idol!

  • true idiot

  • @jihad355 women's rights FTW!

  • señores tengo un programa ke resive y envia internet por la misma targeta wifi si lo kieren me dicen =) ConectMyWiFi

  • @denezhk si lo quiero por favor pasamelo lo nesecito tal ves me funcione mi nombre es eduardo.

  • I don't beleive your focal point is in a good spot. It should be a litlle bit to the back

  • respect.

  • he is't stealing the dish is on his property

  • 50 years from now, we'll be looking back on vids like this, laughing at wireless range limits! Our great grandchildren might have an extra ball or two, but it'll be worth it...p.s. you look like porn star Peter North..I think it's the pony tail.

  • that looks orgasmic

  • i sent the vid 2 my mate and told him to start watching it from 2.02,

he said its nasty and he couldnt take no more.... cutting his foot off.. tut tut.

  • Gods of Duct tape, we bow down to you!

  • often thought about trying that one myself with a can pointed at a dish but i would prolly have gotten a large drill out instead for ahole and have only the usbe connector sticking out of the can where as the card is inside and the usb connector is sticking out using the attachment cable to hold it into place

  • Whos leg is that?

  • si bien et super

  • whats the cable u use to connect the dish to the pc??

  • @dymi14 a USB extension cable

  • Is mounting the cantenna on the LNB needed? If so, why is it necessary? is it used for angling the position of the can to the dish? I already have my dish and cantenna built, I just needed to know more about why the LNB is needed.

  • @Evi4666 the LNB is NOT needed. we used it here to mount the waveguide. If you can find another way to mount the feed at the right angle, it will still work.

  • nice job!

  • So you can hit signals farther away.. won't do you any good as you can't send any information. Only receive.

  • @Drjrecordz with the feed, transmitting works too. check out my other video where i get a connection at 1km away.

  • great video! a hacksaw hacker!

  • nice :D

  • why not use the dish as it is ?

  • @b0gd1 although it may work somewhat without a waveguide, parabolic dishes use a feed to direct the microwaves into the dish. That is why.

  • @drboose ok, thans for the answer, i'm a noob in this kind of stuff :)

  • have you heard of editing, and GOOD music!

  • @nandopando56 what is editing?

  • he looks like the guy that steals internet from his neighbors

  • @shahineisawi what gave it away? the shoes?

  • how many more networks do you pick up with the antenna then without

  • @macdaddy1600 about 30 before, and 250 with the dish and after a scan of the area.

  • Geht nicht, Da der Router auch noch die Signale zurück senden muss und ein Router sendet max. 200Meter!

  • smart luv the vid

  • plz tell me how to fix the lnb

    plzzzzzz

  • @bilaalZAHO duct tape ;D

  • @drboose

my lnb is not the ame typpe

    plzz help meee

  • That's pretty beast =)

  • I love this song!

I always come back to just listen to it

you might like the tracks at n8-music.com if you dig this.

  • MIFFY IS THE NEW WIFFY

  • lol good!! thanks men

  • you should the wire adapter at the focal point it sure gonna work well.

  • @ammaray2 shouldn't the focal point be at the mouth of the waveguide?

  • @drboose

I think the focal point is at the center of the satelite dish..

  • @ammaray2 If you look at the original configuration, when it was used as a satellite dish. That feed, or LNB, was at approximately the same spot at the opening of the waveguide on the Wiffy Extreme here.

  • I'm a go ahead and do this I been trying every thing else just to get some more range but it has not been working out good.I seen one of does sat dish out in the street not to long ago should of taking it.

  • @Bxizzy143 Feel free to message me directly with any questions you have.

  • Was I suppose to empty the soup out of the can?

  • its work i tested and its awsome :)

  • @jejeroy if you have any pictures, I would love to add them to my website.

  • @feli515 i've connected to an indoor, omni directional antenna @ 1.4km. I've seen APs at over 6km with this antenna.

  • net-wifi

  • it is one thing to reed a signal and entirely other to connect to it. Since the video didnt show that they actually achieved a connecton, there probably was none. The wifi card is to weak. He needs something stronger like Alfa AWUS036h. I have Alfa with 9dbi directional antenna...I can receive signals from few kilometers away

  • @pravnik66 Hi , I have an Alfa AWUS036h and it works good , but I want add a directional antenna . Any suggestion ?

  • you think this would be possible with a whole wifi repeater? WNDR3300

  • @CPL337 I don't see why not. Just put the receiving antenna into the waveguide feed.

  • @drboose the problem is this router has internal antennas :( would I be able to get a huge metal can and stick it the whole thing inside?

  • @CPL337 well its clear its work with a repeater of signal you just need to point it on the repeater what its doing its boost the reception of your wifi where you point normally the what the signal do is going around of you but with this satelite its isolating the signal to point it in the direction you want

  • how much was the sexy satellite model rofl?

  • @MuTiLaTePwNs five bucks

  • the only satellite i could get ahold of is a multi dish satellite it has 3 heads on it will this matter at all and would a paint can be better then the coffee can ?

  • @teddydakilabear That dish will be fine, as any dish that reflects microwaves will work. A paint can will probably work, as this isn't an exact science, but - it will work better if your waveguide is a similar size to the one in the video (or slightly smaller).

  • @drboose i got the whole thing built and it looks awesome of course but i only went from getting 1 bar to getting 2-3 bars its ok because its a wireless N connection but id like to get 4-5 bars the place is less than 50 yards away that im getting signal from we mounted the satellite and adjusted it for 2 hours and best we could find is 3 bars any tips on what else i should try ?

  • @drboose , whats awesome tho i hooked it to a desktop computer and shared the internet to the Ethernet port ran that to the input of a wireless router and we have full signal from our router to everywhere in the house i love it when technology work

  • Socks and sandals :L

  • Socks and sandals :L

  • I cant make this work somehow.. when pointed to one direction, i were able to double the signal, but the signal went up and down.

  • @pittesn if you send some pictures of your setup, i can diagnose the problem.

  • @Nebulosssssu cool - how does your frying pan and wire do?

  • this can also be use on a broadband

  • I still like to come back and watch this vid its the best wifi antenna vid there is 5/5

  • @LIVERLADD Im confused, do you: a) enjoy this guy that much, b) enjoy wifi that much, or c) love virginity that much?

  • LOL I still love watching this vid:) 5/5

    Happy Easter from England

  • Drboose, sweet idea...let me try and see how it works.

  • @MrLonzoRemiew would love to get some pics of your setup for my website

  • hahaa en el minuto 2:06 alguien puso su zapato XD q mate de risa

  • @DINAMICOB glad you liked that

  • i'm kinda new to all this but ......are you able to actually connect to some of those distant access points or do you have an issue with transmitting power......im sure your antenna can "hear" very well at long distance but can your wireless adapter send info that far?

overall good video- i like the idea of repurposing the sat-tv dish....

  • I've sustained a connection at 1.4 km line of sight to an indoor omnidirectional antenna.

  • spliff?

  • hi dude, i have a alfa networks awus036h usb device.

This has an antenna and is a bit wider (2 1/2inches) than the Netgear that you used.

would this still work in the can and what should i do with the attached antenna would it be good to leave it on..

  • cool card - i want one of these too! All that needs to go into the can is the antenna - I'm not sure how well it will work, as i've never tried it, but it should work alright. I've got to get myself a awus036h!!!!!

  • yeah man, they have an awesome range.. plus the monitor mode and injection capabilities..

mix that with a satellite dish and that could be devastating..lol

  • hello drboose :-) we need more videos !

    thx

  • soon, I promise. I have 3 great new antennas to show you soon.

  • Man you are pure gold. I'm using a Direct TV Multi-Satellite and wireless N network card, except I'm having trouble locating a long enough male/female USB Connector <_<" Wal-Mart blows...

  • keep looking, you'll find one. I think they make ones 15ft long.

  • try at en electronic store like "the source" you will brop find that there i got a 25 foot long one at a store near me called KGE electronic

  • hahahahaha he made a wifi gun!!!

  • BOOM BOOM!

  • hahahaha thats right!!

  • very good instruction, but many places have wifi networks, where you're viven.donde, Patagonia Argentina, Rio Gallegos, Santa Cruz province is not available to download as many signals, the distances are long and wpa networks are (Cifrada) . that's why I invite you see my video antena.el Wireless mega refuersa size of the antenna gain in the disparate signal.

  • muy emprecionante son unos genios los felizito me an dado una idea gracias

  • no hay de qué

  • Any suggestions, who is the best Wireless wifi card now 2010!!!!

The Netgear WPN111 is too old now.

  • Is Impressionant, good!!!!!

  • thanks for the sub, more videos will come soon!

  • that looks safe as hell man lol.

  • good work and nicce

  • thanks

  • I was totally waiting for him to slip and stab his foot. A steak knife?

  • @MrNicks24 Thetoolsdontmakethejobthejobmakestheman

  • Mount it to the luggage rack on your car and you got one hell of a war driving machine ;)

  • I'm imagining six of them on the roof, all pointed in different directions.

  • i tried this with a simple tin can and it works. in windows xp i had 2 ap's. after the mod i had 7 ap's. YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! THANKS FOR THE GREAT MOD DRBOOSE

  • You are welcome. Just the can will produce up to 9dB, or 3 times the signal strength. Then add the dish, and BOOM! Enjoy.

  • Looks Nice And Cheap

  • I have 2 of these dishes now, exactly like in the video. One was given to me, the other I found in a garbage. Even if you do have to pay for one, you can get one new for 30$.

  • gonna build one right now!

  • is it done yet?

  • I'm sorry f you found my commnt offensiv &/or stupid. I am th anti-racist and I really do luv White People (& all other races, ethnicities, cultures, etc.). Saying ths s a complimnt n my culture, especially wen it's tru. It's really hard 2 explain why tho., I was being sincere w/just a touch of humor. Again, I think yur idea s brilliant & I would luv 2 kno wut gave u the idea. I admire technological creativity.

    Peace, Lovey!

  • Check out my website in the video description. In the references, I list the website where I got the basic design idea from.

Stay tuned, as I have some more DIY USB antennas coming soon.

  • I just knew as soon as I saw the steak knife that duct tape would be involved. Sure enough duct tape appears on the plastic table holding on a leg.

The extremes guys will go to to watch porn.

  • duct tape rules... porn, not so much.

  • WOW!!! BRILLIANT!! ROFLMBAO!!! I LOVE WHITE PEOPLE!!! I GOTTA FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO THIS. How'd you get the idea? Thanks for the creativity Dude!

  • thanks for the comment, minus the stupid racist comment.

  • i don't know what r u doing there but the music is stunning...verry nice mix.ciao

  • I`ll make a vid when I can get hold of a camera some time "Mini Wiffy" lol

  • I have built a indoor cantenna for now and it has doubled the signal strength I hit a local free hot spot and get a fair signal 24/7 but when I get a usb extension lead i`ll move it outside and try using my old satalite dish as you have

  • cool - the can waveguide itself might be 9+dB, which is a nice gain. I'd love to see some pictures once you get it going.

  • Ha i`m gunna do one of these as fast as I can:)

Great video mate 5 stars and favourited

  • thanks liverladd

  • mount that on a poll. i have a similar setup. but i have one of the hughsnet dishes, its huge. i give my mom wifi and shees like a mile or two away. she has a smaller 18 inch dish at her place. she gets full speed and mimo. it crazy

  • exactly - the antenna works well from high up. thanks for the comment!

  • so what is the theoretical range of that thing assuming LOS connectivity? 3 miles, 5 miles?

  • if you had one on each end, LOS, i'd guess 6+ miles. I've seen APs at over 4+ miles, but they were indoor omni-direction antennas, and not meant to be picked up at that distance.

  • what kind of gain does this dish get with the hack?

  • the gain is approximately 30dB

  • drboose thank for answera :) i wona question to you. then building emmm dish not dish that ETREME ANTENA i wana to do in house outside, near balcom at 9-nine floor up USB adapter have to be near antena not long range, but it will have lower signal, and that have to be USB cable to PC lenght to dont lose qualyti signal strenght, a yuo tried to make with COAXALE cable to WI-FI adapter? (ye ye bad englisha i know)

  • hey, i am not sure what your question is.

  • Do you know how to get better signal with a xbox wirless adpater?

  • get a usb extension cable for it, and move it away from the xbox.

  • Yes you can. If your trying to receive a signal inside your home you don't need the dish. If your trying to receive a signal outside the home you will need the dish to get a decent signal. Remember the ides is that you are capturing wifi signals. if you need some ideas or advice send me a pvt. message.

  • hi drboose, great mod.

i was wondering i was going to use a UK sky digital dish, which is smaller than the one you have used, would i have to change the dimensions of the metal can..

and i was also going to use an alfa awus036h usb adapter, which has its own 5dbi antenna..

could you advise please.. Thanks a lot..

  • The dish can be bigger or smaller, but the can needs to stay approximately the same size, 90mm-100mm diameter is best for 2.4ghz.

  • Ghettonet

  • will it work if i liive in a basement ?

and how can i get a dish ?

thanks for the tutorial its sound very good

  • It won't work in a basement. a few people seem to say it works somewhat through a window, but idealy you want to be outside and have as much line of sight as possible

Go to Newegg and search for 'Round Dish Antenna' - for 30$ you get the dish, arm and LNB - the exact size as in this video.

Thanks for the questions, best of luck.

  • thanks for the fast reply

in the basement i have high windows but cant let the window stay open

    2. may be ill be able to get permission to put it on the roof than whats the best way ? how form the basement i can conneect to it ling wire ?

  • you can try it through the windows, as this design would have to be weatherproofed to be placed outside. You can get a 15ft usb extension cable, and i've heard you can even put 2x15ft together (they are not rated for this distance).

  • 43 free signals wowee i wish i could do something similar to my itouch

  • Ive made one like this for my itouch. I'll have a video at some point showing that.

  • awesome subbd

  • nice !!!!!!!!

  • build wi-fi antena, and i thoght about sattelite amplifer, just wi-fi amplifier, signal can be extreme but wi-fi tool not compatible with HIGH signal, it will destroi wi-fi adapter, just cannot to strenght signal without electronic gadget? compatible with wi-fi signal to transmit not jus receive, because it will not work fine, will get big LAG internet speed will have low speed and high ping... :( can you say about what something? (my bad english write but i hope you understend what to wrote)

  • i think i know what you mean. to use a signal amplifier inline with the dish... although i've never tried it, as i only USB WiFi cards in my antennas, but i'm sure it is possible, and probably won't blow anything out. as you gain in distance with this antenna you will lose speed - there is nothing you can do about that. thanks for the comment!

  • nice lol... to bad you dont have a bird finder/ dog.

  • like a hunting dog that flushes out WiFi signals?

  • does that work with stick Antennas?

  • hey, what is a stick antenna?

  • excellent,...i wish that there were that many access point here where i live,,,

    great video,

btw i only have three or four with a cantena unsecured

    40 plus wow....

  • Thx dude . I live on a 60 floor building at the 53 floor . 540 ~ 600 connections . Free internet and high speed . i reaCHED 4 mB/s .

  • 600, whoa!

  • It really amazed me too . I cand get connection with good signal strenght from my city center witch is about 3 miles away .

  • If you want, send me a picture of your setup, and ill upload it to my website.

  • Rattail A-hoy

  • anyone that can outdo what the radio shack sells is a genius! why pay when u can build better! drboose-u rock!

  • glad you enjoyed that, thanks.

  • thanks it is great

  • you are welcome

  • i have an extra antenna right now, im doing that shit !!! thanks for this

  • cool, send me some pictures when you are finished. thanks!

  • I would like to see this portable maybe use it on a plane

    :D

  • Thats awesome! What city is that?

  • That is Toronto, Ontario Canada. Thanks for the comment!

  • Hahaha - classic!

    Love it...

  • the fact that you spelt wi fi wrong is suppressed by the fact that you used a fucking satellite.

  • thanks, I think.

  • Wifi is one word...

    And he spelled it correctly...

  • Technically it is Wi-Fi.

  • this works great with a pringles can
